I have posted an additives FAQ on the BE forums but it appears some of my information may be incorrect so I need the help of some chefs:

Can you use any additive in any food/drink? I thought that you can only use a certain type of additive in a certain type of food, e.g. LFAs in Synthsteak, MFAs in Brandy and HFAs in Bivoli - am I right?

Well, I noticed your post, and didn't see any major goofs.

Here's some stuff that you may want to include (although some is more chef-specific, so I'm not sure if any go beyond what you were looking for).

1) A chef has to include the BE tissue into an additive component of the appropriate size. So Micronutrient Supplements, Multisaccharide Dimate, Hyper Yeast Additive, and Carboreductive catalyst get added to some water to make a Light food additive. A chef cannot include a BE tissue directly in a food schematic.

2) Almost all food schematics have an optional "food additve" slot. These slots have a size rating (light/medium/heavy) indicating the maximum size additive that can be included in that food. However, smaller additives can be used instead. So the Vasarian Brandy schematic has a slot for a Medium food additive, but a chef can also choose to use a Light additive. Bivoli takes a Heavy food addiitve, but a chef can choose to use a Medium or a Light. If a food takes a Light additive, only Light additives can be used.

3) 99% of the time, chefs are going to want Nutrient tissues (Micronutrient supplement, Broad Spectrum Nutrient, Intelligent Nanonutrients). These tissues boost the buff size of food, which is the main stat food buyers look for. However, other tissues may be asked for to make some special-use foods: Multisaccharide Tetramate for instant-burstrun Parwan Nutricake, Filling tissues for some foods that have good base buff/duration but are a little too filling (Fizz Pudding, Flameout, etc).
