Thread: Ok I just read some of the updates (although out of wack the current stuff is in the sticky's)
For example a crafter eating the defense foods will notice a big difference, but a level 80 Defense stacker will have hardly anything difference.

The message i've been getting from the devs is, this is not that foods don't work, its that at a certain point the diminishing returns formula means that there is a very slim increase, and if you're defenses are high enough, no noticable effect at all.

SO then am I right in saying that the the Level 80 combat guys need jack crap for food??
Becuase you can be level 80 with crap defenses..
This is almost a ironic issue, telling me that foods other then regen mean nothing to CL 80 Players.
And the foods work great for us as Crafters lol -- But you would have thought the foods would make one point difference in defense.
Ok, so now we need to test this on a level 17 or so Crafter and see if this is true. I can bet that its a no go though.
Somthing tells me this stuff is not working as intended still. If anyone does testing please let us know.

You are missing the part where he said CL 80 DEFENSE STACKER. From what I'm understanding is the higher your defenses are before eating/drinking a defense enhancer the less the defense food/drink will do for you. So CL really has nothing to do with it, my Padawan currently has very low defense numbers, but is CL 80,(gotta be able to run and cloak before you can fight, lol) when I eat a defense food I notice a big difference, but someone who already has high defenses will not notice as big of a difference

That is exactly the point, and what the diminishing returns equation was designed to do.

Diminishing return? Does this really mean diminishing sales!? Most of my sales are to high level players looking for that extra edge, if there is no, or little, benefit to them then they simply wont bother to buy food. As for the low level players who will get the benefit, by the time they can afford 100k for a crate of food they will already be needing a new suit of armor! Looks like im on the wrong prof. ![]()

Diminishing returns means that instead of everyone picking up Vegeparsine / Thundercloud, some are going to need defense, some offense, and some will want stat increases.
Food can providemany different kinds of"edge". If someone doesn't need one type, then that means they have stomach room for another.

and actually think about it for a sec, this could actually help sell more of the defense foods. Why would I want to waste SP on defense trees when there is a food or drink that will only help me if I'm not super high in defenses...could use the food/drink and use the SP for something else...just a thought
