There's really no reliable place to find high concentrations of resources, it all depends on the server you're on and the shift. Of course, if you mean high-quality resources, www.swgcraft.comis useful for finding out what's available this particular shift.

Sorry, still a noob, I've been looking in all the FAQs can't seem to figure out exactly what cereal is? Is it a broad term to include all wheat and oats?

Check out Swgcraft.com and click on Resource Tree. Breaks everything down for you and there is even a printable version. I keep it handy because I'm always forgetting what's what.

You are correct. What I did as a young chef.. is too open my flora survey tool and in there you can tell what is considered a cereal, veggie, fruit and structural. One of my biggest hurdles was the distinction between fruit and fruits. I still get confused. lol
If a recipe calls for a fruit then you can use fruits, berries or flowers.
If a recipe calls for a fruits then you can only use fruits.
Hmm this may be backwards.. since I'm at work and cant open my tool. You get the drift though.

Easiest way to figure out what resources are cereal are to open up a flora survey tool and look under that title

That's a very angry signature for such a simple question.
Cereal is a resource category that includes wheat, oats, rice, and corn (both domesticated and wild varieties of each). You can find these with any flora survey tool and harvest either by sampling (a good way to check the quality) or with a flora harvester (micro flora farm, automated farm, or a high capacity flora farm)
Resource requirements for schematics can have any resource category, from "organic" (which includes flora and creature resources) to "Tatooinian Berry Fruit". You can see all the categories in your survey tool: if a schematic calls for a particular category, you can use anything below that category:
Seeds
--Vegetables
----Beans
------Nabooian Vegetable Beans
--------ResourceName2
----Greens
------Nabooian Vegetable Greens
--------ResourceName2
--Fruits
----Berries
------Nabooian Berry Fruit
--------ResourceName3
If the schematic needs organic, flora food, orseeds, you can use ResourceName1, ResourceName2or ResourceName3. If the schematic needs Vegetables, you can use 1 or 2, but not 3.

I ahve just been finishing off gathering my resurces and noticed one of the last ones I need is cereal. Now I presumed that that was wheat/oats but then I examine them, they don't state that they are cereal in the way beans/tubers state that tehy are vegetables when I examine them. Am I missing something?Sorry if this turns out to be a totally stupid question!

Yes they are cereals.....for confirmation, use your flora surveying device and cereal should be the overall heading of oats, wheat and corn.
