Thread: Forage!
I was doing my usual daily forage for milk today when I bot a Brottle Weed or something like that , and too my suprise it was +500 mind 880 seconds..
I am a
Culinary Master(cooking 4)
Accoplished Baker(dessert 4)
with 2 in mixology and cant make anything like this..
I only have survival 2 ...
what type of balance is this?
I had posted in another thread that I thought it would be a great idea to have socketed food, such that foraged food could become an optional indgredient in recipies. The food in question would take on the characteristics of whatever food has been foraged for. In this way, you don't slam the scouts in favor of the chefs... rather it creates a reason for scouts to find chefs to exchange. The notion of socketed items is already established in crafting, so I think it would be an easy fix... and it would make the food better! Certainly the foraged items are indeed food, and it only makes sense for chefs to make something with it! The downside about foraged items is that it's a random grab of small quantities... but if you make it a recipe option rather than a required ingredient, you really wouldn't have to change the nature of foraging for food.
The big question would be whether the foraged items need to be categorized for different recipies (i.e. fruits, bugs, roots, etc...)
they should let you "spice" any food up with a foraged item
thats a good idea , but only chef can do it not domestic arts
Generally only one or two foraged foods can be eaten at any time, they are *very* filling.
Careful of using the term "spice" up our food, Rebl! We don't want to confuse the customers...
As for including foraged items in our recipes (say only in Novice Chef and above), I would wholeheartedly love to see this - better food and an increase in player interaction. Perhaps include a stronger chance of failure depending on the nature of the foraged item's buff...
More food for thought (sorry) on the chef class, I guess...once the primary problems with our class are addressed.
