Hiya Chefs I've recently become a master chef, made a few credits, and am now trying to grow my business. My primary limiter right now is finding hunters to gather meat for me. Idealy I want to motivate people to sell me rare HQ meats. My idea was this, calculate the average rating for the meat in question's Fl, Oq, and Pe. Then pay on a scale that reflects that value. So, for example, a meat with a 500 average rating would pay a certain amount and a meat with a 750 would pay a significant amount more. Also, I was thinking of assigning a base value for each meat type to make gathering all types worth a hunter's while. I know getting domestic meat is harder/slower than getting carnivore andwould like to adjust for this.

I'm not sure if this will work, it may be a bit overcomplicated. What do others do to attract a decent meat supply? Does anyone use a system resembling one close to that which I have been thinking about? Please respond with any ideas, suggestions, comments you have. I need meat

I use the following as a guide. (and have had rangers to go with it). The minimum acceptable OQ+PE+Flavor (not avg) is 2100. At that level I offer 6 cpu. For each +100 in total I offer a bonus of +1 cpu, up to a theoretical maximum of 15cpu at 3000. Of course, along with this policy is an Open-ended contract. I never refuse any quantities less than 5000 offered (doesn't matter about my need). For example, right now I can't get the domesticated I need. However, I am still accepting carnivore, insect and avian (I support the guild's doctors as well). (The avian is priced based on OQ+PE+DR, so you know)

I go with a base 5cr/unit for average meats, and scale up from there. As for the types, yeah, dom is harder to get than domestic, but it only takes 260 units on Dom Meat to make a crate of GGP, it takes 780 Carn Meat for Bivoli.

I have a base buying program:

5cpu for carny and insect meat in minimum 1k stacks.

7cpu for domestic meat in minimum 1k stacks.

I need a 500 average over the three stats (DR doesn't count), and I give bonus cpus for large (>5k) stacks and high (>700 average) quality meats. Generally right now the best incentive that I have for hunters is that I barter meat foods with them, so they are actually collecting meat for themselves as well as other customers. I works pretty well.

Greetings fellow Kettemoorean, Yeah the meat market pretty much sucks right now. I have told lots of people ,especially the ones taht request foods that require meat that I am buying meat. I even posted on the Kettemoor trade forum that I was looking for a meat supplier and I have gotten pretty muchzero response. I have ended up saying I would pay 15cpu for meat with OQ and PE havinga sum of 1500 or greater. I may have some meat coming in now,,, finally. Of course with the new patch I am probably going to talk to them and have them hold off until after it comes out cause I might go broke after the patch paying thatmuch

On a side note Domesticated meat is not hard to come by. All you have to do is go to Yavin and get magwax (or something close to that) missions. Granted you wont be able to be picky about the resources. With harvest1 I could get between 30 and 70 units of meat from them and they are not too terribly hard to kill for combat classes. I have another charater that is a commando with FTIV and I could solo them fairly easy,,,,, as long as I didnt run out of fishak that is

As a meat supplier, I have say the scale system doesn't work. Market prices are where things are at. You get HQ meat, there will be a LOT of demand for it, and those that are willing to pay the highest cpu will end up with my sale. You may run into some newbs that need cash and willing to settle for a scale, but for the professional meat gatherer, there's nothing but market price.

And gathering meat, HQ meat at that, is not an easy task. Any large quantity of meat will need to be dropped by a strong mob, which usually requires a group. And most people who've capped combat skill wise can make cash other ways than having to resort to selling meat.

You're competing against people who can just drop harvesters and make easy 10x return on their harvester products vs having to kill critters and harvest meat in any large quantities.
