Thread: Do we gain enhancements from eating our own food?

Wastril bread doesn't give a really big bonus, and its duration is pretty short, especially when you don't have many of the Cooking skills (which give better assembly and more experimentation points). Wastril's a stamina buff, so next to stamina you should see a "30" or so in the "Enhancements" column of your character sheet (ctrl-c), it'll last for around 3-1/2 minutes.
And just FYI, you do seem to get UXP for eating your own food, at least on TestCenter. I had been using wastril to help keep my action up while sampling, and I noticed that when I finished a stack, I got 35 food crafting xp. This may be something new, I haven't gotten around to checking it on a live server.

Howdy all
Ive been trying to figure this out for a couple of weeks now. I even asked a master chef last nite but he said he didnt know...I think he was busy even though he had a "Helper" sign.
Im just a novice but when ever I eat my own Wastril bread(or whatever chef food)I dont ever see that I gain any enhancements. But whenever I eat any of the artisan food I do.
Im only at Novice Chef with 6500 out of 30K to gain a level. Is that the problem????? Do I need a level?

Not sure exactly what your question is... if it's, "Do we gain exp from eating our own foods?", then the answer is no. If it is, "Do our own foods have the same effect on us that is does on others?", then yes. I eat my foods all the time, and if it's a listed as a +500 mind fishak, it always gives me that. You don't need any specific level or qualification to eat any food.

Thanks for the reply....I guess the better term I should of used is do we getted buffed....If so, then for some reason Im not...
