Aye - I am. Though I usually buy the flora from the BE and provide the meat. And make the schem. Would you do that?

Why would YOU want that when I have my own factories and plenty of resources? I'll take yourmeat and cut the price down some, but I won't sell schematics.

"Why would YOU want that when I have my own factories and plenty of resources?"

While I won't tell anyone that they should sell schematics (that is a choice everyone has to make for themselves), I will say there are several reasons why it is easier to dealwith schems than purchasing crates:

1. A schem trade takes about 5 minutes, crates can take days, and you would have to make a trade for 20-40 crates or give someone admin to a place where they can be dropped.

2. Manufacturing nutrients in my factories allows me to leave them in the output hopper, thus saving inventory space. This gives me the freedom to make smaller runs of additives with said nutrients while keeping everything in the output hoppers.

3. Manufacturing nutrients in my factoriesensures the nutrients are made with the ingredients I choose.

I know these aren't a huge deal, but they are minor conveniences that make it easier on both parties.

Disclaimer: Once again, I am not tellingthe original posteror anyone they should sell schematics. I just wanted to illustrate the possible upside to such an arrangement, sicne the original poster posed the question.

1. Assumes the factory isn't already running and there aren't items in the output hopper.

2. If you don't have a Vendor that a PACK of the nutrients can be offered to, how are you selling a high volume of food?

3.Assumes the Chef knows better than the BE. I'm selling finished product, 83% nutritional value, you know what your getting and I know what resources I need to maintain or improve upon that quality as new resources become availible.

I'll counter that, with the following.

1. Its using my factory, freeing yours up to make casks and alcohol.

2. Its using resources I've chosen and gathered to get a high quality product.

3. I try to have a factory running at all times with crates already produced ready to sell, instead of waiting 2 days, you might have to wait a day at most, but if you're making your own alcohol and casks, then you'll have plenty of lead time to order a batch of nutrients when you start the factory to run the casks and alcohol.

Hmm, I thought my post pretty well indicated I was just saying there are some good reasons to want a schem...I didn't really mean to instigate the sort of discussion where you go through my points one by one.

FYI, I do have several vendors....none of which are on the same planetas my factories.

You know factories are cheap, lots are even cheaper, especially for factories. Chefs harvest the same organics as BEs. Everything being equal it is just easier to make them yourself from a schematic, be it from a good friend or in my case a pet wookie.

BTW, this belongs on your trade forum for you galaxy, not on a profession board. Please take it there.
