What Kriles said, check the FAQ at the top of the page for details in what to grind and which lines to go up first to get the best grind-able items.

Kriles also mentioned the merchant skills, if you can spare the points really push for a vendor. Carrying crates around with you to sell at local starports is a pain and you will do much better from vendor sales.

Since you are on Eclipse, avoid Dantooine for setting up shop. I dont know what "state" Dantooine is like on other servers, but on Eclipse it is lag hell. The vendors in US prime time can take upto 20 minutes to load and sometimes refuse to. I set my prime shop here to appeal to the combat players (and also my player city is here) but because of customer complaints regarding the lag Im setting up an outlet store on Tatooine.

Hmm anyway should you need any advice, just shoot me a tell on Eclipse (I do play Euro times though) as Tally and I'll help as much as I can

Kind Regards,

Tally, Master Chef of Eclipse

I'm currently a new player in SWG and I love this game thus far. Ive dabbled here and there.. feeling out the game and it has alot to offer. after some careful consideration and some reading on many forumns I've decided to go chef with my newly appointed main character. It just drew me in, and Im doing my best to achieve this goal.

I recently became a Novice Chef and I feel it is a good accomplishment and a step towards my goal. but Im at a standstill as to what I do next. Its not a question of which branch to go, I plan on mastering the proffesion. Its more of a question as to "How do I get started?". I need a foundation to grow and I think I have a good enough credit build up for a new character. I've been reading the forums on this and it seems to me I have quite a challenge ahead of me. With Harvesters, Factories, Maitnance, Vendors... Its all out of my league at the moment so I may need some help with some of it.

Some good tips would help and some real-time help would value greatly to my advancement. My first choice server was Eclipse and I think it's a good server to pick cause of the good population it harbors. Im on everyday for a good time and I need something to keep me real intrested in this game and I tell ya im very interested in this proffesion.

Leave some feedback. It will be greatly apprietiated. E-mail Me on Eclipse@ Vi-Ek. I would love to start something new and I have lots to offer. Im not a money grabber I would like to master this one proffesion first then Ill go on to the rest if I must.

Thank you for your time. leave feedback for some help as well as help for others.

Have you checked the FAQ (linked in the "New Chef Guides" sticky thread)? I tried to cover most new-chef questions there, although maybe a "what can I make that sells" section should be added. To be honest, you'll probably need at least Cooking II (maybe even III) and a box or two in some of the other branches before you can make food good enough to sell for a decent profit. Some popular low-level items are Blue Milk (Mix I), Synthsteak (Entrees I), Won-Won (Desserts I), Jawa Beer (Dom Arts3) especially if you can get your hands on some micro-nutrient supplements, and Almond Kwavuu (Novice Chef) sells OK to low-to-mid level CH's.

If you've got enough Business/Merchant skills for a vendor, definitely look into purchasing a food factory. The vast majority of customers want food by the crate.

Welcome to the kitchen, may your Kanali Wafers never burn.
