One workaround I saw was to make sure you have the item targeted (duh) do this:
/move {itemname} up xxx
{itemname} can be just the first few letters ("vas" for vasarian brandy, "ter" for terrata, etc). It seems that there are some structures or items withnames that start with "up" and if one is in range of your building (not just cantinas) the /move command is trying to do something with that structure before the targeted item.
Laguna: Thanks for the heads up.
Sarly: You having problems too?
ARGH this is making me one aggro wookiee.

Yep, this is what finally did it for me. I can even just use the first letter of the item I'm moving to get it to work.
i.e. (when moving brandy) /move v up 100
/rolleyes.
Now, can someone remove the clip planes from the bar and shelves please? /bonk Devs
Thanks guys (and Sarly! =P)

I tried all of these, and what finally worked for me was just the first letter of the item.
ie: /move v up 10 for vassarian brandy.
This was done with the item selected also.
Hope this helps others. This is the most exciting fix so far imho.
