Thread: Food Assembly Tapes
For now (and hopefully always), the only reason to have +25 assembly is because it looks nice when it's attached to your name, but I wouldn't go and drop tens of millions on them.

Ok. Well I have a 12pt suit but a frind has one for sale which also has lots of assembly on it so wondering if it was worth selling mine and grabbing her suit...
I have the same question. I thought that with a reasonably good resource, you get 7% with great success, and 8% with amazing success for each experimentation point that you use. That means that you do get a boost, but to me it doesn't warrant 2M c per point.
I don't know that these tapes are really going for that. I was in the cantina a couple weeks ago because I'm an entertainer as well, and I was talking to my guildmates about becoming a chef. Some guy handed me a +6 and a +5 food assembly tape because he said he didn't think he could get rid of it otherwise. So perhaps people are asking for exorbitant amounts of money for them on the trade forums, but not actually getting the money. That's the only thing I can figure.
It is all for show in my opinion. True the chances of failing during the assembly of the item is very slim, there's stillthat chance and the tapes can just about completley eliminate it. That does not make it worth it alone. When people seek out a chef to either buy off a vendor or to place a special order, which would you choose: Someone that states +25 Assembly/Experimentation or someone who just has Master Chef over their head. By obtaining the +25 assembly shows your customers that you are willing to go the extra mile and will focus your attention to every last detail when crafting whether it is true or not.
Also, many crafters have stated that getting an amazing on the assembly means you have a better chance at getting amazing successes during the experimentations. Never seen any conclusive evidence to support this, but if it is true then the tapes are worth every penny.
