Thread: What to do with not-so-good resources?

Hi All,

I've been dabbling at Chef for almost a year now, trying to play that among my other 4 characters on my server. I've made many of the more popular products, and some of the less popular ones. I'm familiar with the crafting process, experimentation, and so on (though by no means do I claim to be an expert).

Yesterday, I finally decided to get serious about being a Chef. I've come up with a menu of foods and drinks I plan to sell (though I'll leave pricing until later). When planning the menu, and turning that into a list of requisite resources, the tediousness of the initial process, let alone the maintenance of that over time, prompted me to check the SWG Chef forum. Surely, others have been through that, I thought.

After perusing the FAQ (and experiencing a few "D'oh! moments" ), I downloaded some of those ultra-cool tools that will make this endeavor so much more manageable. (If only there was a way to save to a text file the stats and descriptions of items on a vendor, ala the /mailsave command for in-game email. )

In the course of that, and going over my resource stock, I realized I have a lot of resources lying about that just don't seem worth keeping. Some, because the stack size is too small for a decent run of product, or because the stats on the resources are just plain crappy. The stack size on some of the "crappy" resources are in the 10-20K range, and it just doesn't feel right tossing that stuff.

So, my questions to you are: what do I do with that stuff? Is there any way to make use of small stacks of resources, or the larger stacks whose stats aren't so good? Should I invest in a recycler to churn the small stacks into larger stacks of something useful? And, if so, is the stuff that comes out of a recycler worth using? Can BE tissues be used to boost the product's deficiency when crafted with low-quality resources, such that it'd be worth selling? Or should I just toss all the small stacks and low-quality stuff and start, more or less, from scratch?

I appreciate any helpful feedback you may have to offer.

Crappy resources are for subcomponents. you can recycle stuff to get generic vengetables and cereal to make protatoes, alcohol, carbosyrups, and soypro.

QFE, recyclers rule, just save wheat cuz you need that for dough and recyclers don't make it

Dont forget the chemical recycler for water as well.

The recyclers that are useful to Chef are:

Flora: For converting flora to generic cereal and vegetables for subcomponents

Creature: For converting milk into usable stacks for use in Flavor nutrients and Bantha Butter

Chemical: For converting water for usabel stacks for nutrients

I have found nothing else usable out of the recyclers.
