Just checking in with the Chefs to see if you're all aware that Vegeparsine isn't working. Yes it adds to the Melee Defense stats on the character screen, but it doesn't actually reduce damage taken.
I've done a good amount of testing on this, and it's been this way for a long time....yet I see people using it all the time.

Thank you for stopping by and bringing this to our attention. If you feel that you are not getting any benefit from this product, I recommend that you quit buying it.

Melee defense does not mitigate damage (Well it can but only if your melee defense is ALOT higher than your opponents Accuaracy). It will simply make you harder to hit. And from what I've found it seems to be working. Some tests prove it does while others prove it doesn't. My test is ongoing, when it stops selling....I'll tell ya its broke.

One possible workaround is to unequip / reequip your weapon (or equip a different weapon type if you're TK). The theory goes that the numbers update in the character sheet, but the underlying defense numbers don't refresh without this step. Changing weapons forces a refresh since "{weapon} defense" is different for each weapon types, depending on your template, so this recalculates your defense numbers, and will include the vegeparsine bonus.
I'm not sure if an increase in defense provides lower damage in all cases, or only if your defense is higher than your opponent's accuracy stat. Higher defense should always cause more misses to occur, but by how much is a bit of a mystery.

thats not quite true, melee defense does mitigate damage. the best way to see it is to equip a pair of Aaukuan rings to increase ranged defense by 10, this will mitigate something like 1 pt per attack. if vege. did work exactly as advertised, you'd see a slight change in damage per attack.
linky to a post CU damage calculator. its pretty easy to read off your character sheet and see if the Vege is working or not based off this calculator

SciguyCO, thanks for the info. I'll try that out tonight and report back here with what I find.

You could already be in a situation where your defenses are so high that you recieve the minimum damage before vege as is. Or the uneqip/equip bug you need to do. The effects can be rather underwelming, it is only 99ish melee defense. You do see a huge difference on something like COB with a +500. The difference is there.

Just tested it and you're right about me needing to cycle weapon types to get it to factor in. I was taking 106 damage before, and 93 after eating the Vegeparsine, equippinga rifle, then going back to unarmed.
Thanks for the help... i'm so happy this stuff works

Jadeew, just trying to help man. I thought it was broken, and I was seeing if you chefs knew or not. If you knew what I was missing, you could have just said so rather than being sarcastic and rude...
Also, any of your customers not aware they have to swap weapons for the effects of your food to take effect are missing out. Do you not care?

Jaadew is just cynical because most people who come on here call us scammers for making this food. We've gotten grumpy because our promised Friday Feature hasn't shown in a month and a half.

Ah I see... his first post makes more sense now, lol... I apologize for not searching the forum before posting.
While I know it's probably annoying to see the same post again and again, wouldn't it bebetterto educate each person that comes along asking about it, rather than the giving the kind of answer that was given? I mean if you're going to take the time to reply, might as well be constructive. Lol, if it gets frequent enough you could just save a text file with your answer in it on your comp... next time someone asks, copy->paste! Anyway... you probably don't need any advice from me, but thought I'd offer it anyway
I'llgo ahead and changethe title of this thread to be a little less absolute
