I think you ate an Exo-protein wafer or Synthsteak instead of Pikatte Pie. The pie lasts up to 20 minutes, and there is no message about damage mitigation. The message you saw is seen when you take Wafers or Synthsteak, or perhaps a Flameout, which only last a few seconds.

Hi,
as I try to improve my skills with the delicious food an drink we can find across the galaxy, today I try some tasty defensive chef production.
I face a prey, look into her eye and start the fight, eating a pikatta pie to taste the flavor.
one eye on the prey, one eye on the combat chat, I spot that the damge she was doing to me was less than before, and in my combat chat a magnificient "xxx damage as been mitigated by your defensive buff" to be written again and again.
I think my self, youh ouh ouh bouya this is a great tasty food, and then I spot the damage of my prey to be back on normal !
a quick look to my combat channel explained all of it, after 3 or 4 hit mitigated by the buff, my stomach is still fill bye the tasty pie but the buff doesn't work anymore...
is it intended ? bugged ? was I dreaming ? please share your experience as I am working on menu to help friends and chef's customer to get happy meal
