Hello fellow chefs! I'd like some input from you guys please =)

OK so after grinding to master Chef I find it terribly annoying to have to run all around the galaxy to find the uber resources and general resources I need, and it gave me an Idea. I'm Going to set up a resources emporium on Bloodfin Purely for FLora resources. I will set up 2 static fields of Flora Harvestors (15 in each field) On 2 planets.

Firstly - I'd like some input on this idea, If it was on your server would it be handy to have a Shop next to a shuttle with all the flora you could dream of (would take a while i know) and any suggestion would be nice...

Secondly - I know for a Fact that chef foods/Drinks require certain planet's flora, eg. dant berries, tat fruits, But, being fairly new to Mchef (3 days old) Im not too certain about the demand. This will basically decide which 2 planet I drop my static harvies on, so it's pretty darn important

I know you guys are very helpfull from past experience so, here we go again! Thankyou VM in advance for your replies.

I think it would appeal to someone just breaking into the buisness.

I survey every cycle for possible great resources and then harvest them myself.

If you sold stacks of cheap flora resources for subcomponents I'm sure that would do well.

I don't know about this. Personally, for me, if you don't have the 'thrill of the hunt,' what do you have? You throw some schematics together, experiment once or twice to get the best, then put it in your factory and away you go. I actually enjoy going to the planets and updating SWGCraft.com every couple days. I will admit that it was no fun on my previous galaxy because I was practically the only one updating it, but now that there are about four of us that take turns every couple days as the whim strikes us, hunting down resources is a major part of the game for me.

I did buy my grind mats earlier tonight (since I'm just starting out on Ahazi) simply because I wanted to keep all my harvestors on the good spawns.

Maybe when I'm a wealthy chef / BE, I might go the lazy route and buy certain resources, but I can't see myself doing it right now. For one thing, resources are 100% free now, except for the price to destroy and redeed a harvie. If you have a power harvestor, you get power for free, and then the harvies don't take maintenance anymore. So for this period of time, resources are uber cheap to gather yourself. This is a good thing, as I don't like mooching off my guildmates too much for money.

Added after I thought about it for a minute: I'm more likely to buy good creatures mats (bone, hide, meat, milk) than flora resources. So if you want to be helpful, become a ranger and know what you're hunting, then set up a vendor to sell those.

i agree with both those points.

my main go-to resource guy quit playing, and i miss him really bad. i could send him an email that i needed a million crys gemstones, or 400k of water, and he'd put some or all of that on my vendor that night at 2 cpu. he also did move harvs around for good spawns and for really great stuff that i knew i wanted more than i could harvest i'd sign up for that in addition to putting out as many harvs as i could.

i am really picky about my good flora and i do spend the time myself to find good concentrations. i have some of my houses/factories on lots that belong to friends so that i can keep 20 lots open to shift harvs around. but any time i see cereal, water, crys gemstone, or fiberplast at less than 1 cpu, even at 99999 for 100k, i buy it because i know i'll use it eventually. if i'm short at the time i'll spend 2 cpu no problem, but stocking up for the future i try to find 1. seems to me you'll have to decide between static harvs for grind stuff, or shifting them around for good stuff, but there is money to be made either way. good luck!

If you can get some lot trades, try to get a field of about 100 harvs...then just pull up whatever is in spawn, selling it for 1-2cpu. Plenty of money doing that...and... if an uber spawn happens to be under your field...you have a nice little earner at 4-6cpu.

You will prob find you spend a few hours running maintenance and power tho.

Personally I buy ALL my resources. I know a couple of big harvesters who can get me 1mill+ of nice resources as they come in, or I can get grind resources from their statics for cheap.

Creature resources are the biggest pain tho, as it can be very pricey...You need to keep at least 20-30mill in the bank to buy up 1mill units of meat @20-30cpu when it spawns. Thats a lot of capital.

I guess it's a mixed feeling then. I see the points mentioned above and understand them all, i guess its all about preference. It still seems at least useful and a profitable way for all. Hmm keep it coming...
