Thread: Add/Food Combos
Well, I don't think anyone's put together a list, because there's not really a standard rule of thumb. If you want more buff power: use a nutrient tissue. If you want more duration: use a saccharide. If you want lower filling: use a reductor.
Really the best way to discover it is to try things out yourself. Make a food without any additives, then make the same food (with the same resources / experimentation) with an additive, and look at the results. If the enhanced foods are better enough to justify the tissue's cost, go with it.
Here are some things that I used, although your mileage may vary:
- Customers want Parwan nutricake to reduce their burst cooldown, which is controlled by Flavor experimentation, so for these use a Multisaccharide Tetramate instead of a Broad Spectrum Nutrient.
- Not all foods are experimentable in all categories (or experimentation doesn't have any effect on some stats). For these foods, a tissue giving a bonus to the missing category is a waste of resources. For example, Ruby Bliel has no "Nutrition" experimentation (since it's a hard-coded buff), so a Micronutrient won't have any effect on this food.
- Tissue bonuses are percentage based, so they have a greater effect on foods with a larger base value. Accaragm has a low base value for Health regen (roughly +50), so spending 1-3k on a BSN to boost that to roughly +90 (with no effect on action / mind regen) doesn't really seem worth it to me. But using a BSN on Scrimpi to improve it from +110 health to +203 health may be worth the cost.
Thanks for the advice thus far. I guess my biggest issue is that while I know what I use...and what works best for me...and most of my guildies and friends....I don't know what the "most desirable" is in relation to those items that I have no experience with.
Maybe I'll just put it on my to-do list to make a list of this stuff as I get experience with it and then I'll share it with everyone at some point.
Maybe you can vendor search and see what other chef's are making to get a general idea of what most people on your server like.
