Thread: Well, it's been a good run
Sorry to see it Aelea,
You where one of the Few that kept a good attitude thru the CUand I have agreed w/ the majority of your posts. I am felling the same pains your felling now a days and am thinking I may have to follow suit, its a shame that they have managed to make people like you and I actually think the Great Prof of Chef is now unfun and tedious to the point thatit is untolerable

Iwill say this though, Chef has been the one constant in my Star Wars world. I have always stated that I would give up my Jedi before I gave up my Chef. For this reason, I don't expect that I will be playing Star Wars much longer. The combat world does not hold my interest very long and without Chef to fall back on. I cant imagine playing much longer at all.
i kinda know what you mean there. i do like the combat, more postCU than before since i need groups for most things and am lucky enough to have good groups, but i think i would give up my jedi before my chef if i absolutely had to pick.
I would like to thank you all for the countless hours ofentertainment that I found here on the best profession board in the game. The discussions and debates were awesome. I thank you all for the help you have given me and hope that I was able to occasionally make someone else's gaming experience a bit easier along the way.
very much agree that this is the best board in the game! and yes you have taught me things and made me think along the way. good luck to you
Farewell friends

Well, it seems that I cannot stomach the horrid changes that have taken place in my beloved profession of 18 months so I must now bid you all fare well. I am not going to post a long and dawn out rant on why I am leaving the profession. Many of you that frequent these boards already know how I feel about recent changes. I will now be crafting out the last of my nutrient resources and stocking the vendors one last time.

Farewell friends
You've been a constant presence on the forum here which I have relied upon heavily. Best of luck with whatever you do next!
I also quit Chef shortly after the CU. I quit for slightly different reasons, although not that different. I had been Cheffing for a long damn time. I had accomplished just about everything possible as a Chef under the old system. I really just didnt want to start all over again and rework my menus. The new generation of Chefs were coming online, and there was so much that had changed that newer Chefs really had a chance to start off (especially since a lot of Chefs didnt have Artisan Suits yet). I had been putting in 25+ hours of playtime a week for well over a year now just keeping my 4 alts, 20 factories, 7 vendors, 30 harvesters, and 10 houses all buzzing to keep up with the insane amount of restocking that I had to do for my Chef biz. It was time for a change. I gave away 2 years worth of resources to friends and guildies, kept my Chef/Artisan suit (sentimental value), and tore down all which I had spent almost tweo years building.
I almost quit the game. I really did. I didnt log in for about a month after that.
Then I started goofing off. I became a pistoleer/CM/Dancer. LOL. I would go out and PvP, and then just start breakdancing in middle of the fight for the hell of it. Through this I started having fun again. That led into a growing interest in the combat system. I really thought that I wasnt interested in the combat system either, but it grew on me, and I ended up really enjoying it. I dropped dancer and jumped full tilt into combat. Never trying to be uber, just enjoying the newness of it.
I stayed.
Now, months later, I am still very much in love with this game. It is STILL not perfect, and it never will be. But I still love it. I found fun and excitement and humor in parts of the game that I had never fully explored. I look back on my Chef days with incredible fondness, and not without a small pang of regret. I know I cant go back; I know I WONT go back. But I will always remember being a Chef named Vomit, and how much fun it was.
That is why I still camp out in these forums. Why I still take this professions needs and concerns so seriously. This is hands down one of the best forum communities in the game, and I imagine I will still be reading these forums for some time.
Dont throw all hope of finding fun in this game out the window. There may very well be something that will catch your interest when you least expect it.

Damn shame my friend. I won't pretend I like the changes to Chef.. truth be told I truly hate many of the changes that have come about as a result of the CU, but I still love the profession... I love the people. I still take great pride in my work, but I also still long for the old days before the CU... in combat and in crafting. One of the (few) good things about the CU and it's changes was that it forced ME to change and adapt... never a fun prospect but nonetheless... even I have to admit that in the midst of my grumbling about the changes, I was still invigorated on a certain level by "re-learning" things.
Every time I think about how easy it would be to pack up my business and take my money and just focus on something else... I am bombarded by feelings of how terribly I would miss my shop, my customers, and seeingmy name out there... knowing that it was MOBY'S food that got them through that fight and being appreciated for that... I would just miss it too much. Fact of the matter is I still love the game and this profession. I love for what it was, and I love it forwhat I think it still could be. That's what keeps me going.
I'm sorry to see you leave... and I truly hope you stay in game and come back to us. Either way... do NOT be a stranger on the chefforums... or I'll hunt you down and /pietoss you into madness.
Be good!!
Thats pretty much how I feel.
I would not quit chef just yet. It wont serve the profession any good to lose an established vet like that.
The problem I am having is not with the buff per se but the rate at which amazing successes are coming now. 3 hours 247 experimentation attempts to make 5 Pikatta Pie schematics is ridiculous. 7 hours to make 10 Vegeparsine schematics that yield 20 cratesand 9 Madalorian Wine schematics that yield 13 cratesis crazy.
Being the perfectionist that I am with my foods, I will not settle for anything less than a perfect schematic. I could not worry so much about the amazings, but making the very best stuff I could is what was fun for me.

That sounds very familar hehe ![]()
Maybe try and find a dancer who plays on a regular basis during the time frame you do. And make it REALLY worth their while to be around to buff you. Its the only solution I can think of (short of a dancer alt) until we get some very needed changes.

You know maybe I shouldn't say this... but I honestly have no patience for amazing successes. If I get them... great... I still use bespin with every craftI do... BUT I will NOT spend 7 hours to get all amazings that will amount to a few extra points bonus. More power to you if that's what you enjoy... but I just couldn't stand it. :/
Personally I enjoy making the best stuff I can within REASON... meaningI will go through 5-6 schematics till I get the resultsI want... but not 7 hours worth... I'd have no time to actually PLAY then. ![]()
