Thread: Are you afraid of the Curb?

Now normally with more pvp encouraged, that would only improve business. However, while that could be the case, I have heard rumors of food not being as important or taking a hit. While there is not much information out there, what do u guys think? Is chef going to become a less valuable or important profession?

I have no clue but if people stop buying food I'll just simply drop Chef and go BH

If people cut down on their use of food, at least it will be easier too keep a stocked vendor

Too be honest im not too afraid, im having fun making food and thats all that matters too me. If it dont make me rich so be it, as long as i can keep doing what i want.

It's been mentioned that the chef revamp was done with the curb in mind. I would assume that they wouldn't have completely overhauled the profession just to see it fall by the wayside with useless foods and drinks. From what I've heard, mind stats will not be *the* stat to look out for once it comes, so we can expect our sales of brandy/ahrisa/canapes to decline with a possible increase in sales of such items as accarragm and garrmorl. If only they'd fix garrmorl so that it could get past the cap, we'd be set. As it is, I use it myself quite a lot. It's not an item I ever stock for the general population, but I have made it on request for people that like to run around and not get killed checking harvesters while not wanting to go all out to get an M.D. buff.

As a side note: WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!! I finally got my mando wine schematic and I can't wait to dive in and check it out!

Bring on the CURB, I figure business will go up, with the increase of players coming back from other MMO's, and the new variation in sought after food.

Yes JonB17, the CURB will destroy the Chef profession. I think the only rational thing to do is quit chef and give all of your resources to ME......since we are on the same server.

I'll send you a tell ingame, brother. I am only trying to help. We will work out delivery later in the week.

No worries here.

It will be a nice shake up in the established routines for both consumers (must buy brandy, ahrisa, canape, etc.) and chefs (must make brandy, ahrisa, canape, etc.). And for those that already carry most every item, this transition will be much easier than those who only make the current best selling items.

I'm assuming there will be new foods added and some taken away, or are we just looking at stat changes. It would anger me quite alot if my millions of resources became useless. BTW anyone have a link to any post containing info released by SOE about the chef profession in regards to CURB?

As a PvE swordsman, yes, very afraid of the CURB/Nerf. It is general knowlege that the goal is to eliminate solo PvEing. Boooo .

As a chef, no, not at all. If Docs and Dancers become less powerful, people are going to need health and action food, not just mind food, steak and bivoli.

I must say I am very afraid of the CU. I have beena chef for a very long time and I don't really need the cash. I do however value my time. I currently stock Brandy, Accarragm, Vercupti, Thakitillo, Synthsteak, Ahrisa, Canape, Snow Cake, Bivoli, and Havla. Havla has already been made obsolite. I have 150 crates still on the vendors that will never sell.

Since they are revamping the buffs I can assume that Bivoli may fall by the wayside. They are making the mind untargetable and changing ham costs of weapons, the mind foods may fall by the wayside as well.

I stock at any given time 1000 to 2000CRATES of foods on my vendors. Most are in Ahrisa, Brandy, Canape, and Bivoli. All of which may be destined for the "This item is no longer in use. Please delete from your inventory" message.

The value of the food aside, what about the time it took me to:

    A) Collect the resources to make the foods

    B) Make the credits to buy the resources I can not collect (I have no scout, I employ approximately 20 to 30 hunters))

    C) To actually craft the foods and run the factories

    D) To get the foods from the factories to the vendors

I have countless hours invested in my "little kitchen" as well as alot of very premium resources that will soon be in foods no one wants. I am afraid that this will be one "upgrade" that I just won't be able to stomache.

Hoping for the best....Expecting the worst.

Jadeew, I totally agree with you on the existing food. I am in the same position with thousands of crates that will only be worthwhile as curiosity pieces for someone's museum once the CURB happens (based on the existing limitedinformation). I've stopped production until I heard what the chef menu will look like post upgrade.
