Anyone else finding water to be a nightmare? Lowca(my server) had2 complete resource(instant disappear, all new stuff)shifts that completely shafted me... I spent 4 hours after each one finding a decent water source... after the first one best I found was 52%, now its 48%... I've spent about 5-10K in ticket costs planethopping looking for a 64% spot like I had before and was happy with... Why is water, a resource used by two of the poorest professions(chef's and medics) also one of the rarest(so we pay more per unit because of the rarity)? Water's all over the place. Look at those giant lakes. This is just stupid.

I haven't had too bad of a time looking for water and have found some reasonable prices on the bazaar for large amounts also.
What kills me is what you mentioned at the end of your post. That despite the fact you are standing on the bank of an enormous river there is no water for sampling, or when you are standing in a field of what looks to be wheat there is no wheat but lots of Wood, but when you are in the woods there is tons of wheat but no wood. I wish the made finding the resources more intuitive.

Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, oh wait, its a durni.

They should really have "purification plants" instead of water harvesters. Harvs make sense on Tatooine, they do not make sense on Naboo, where I can walk for 5 minutes in any direction and be standing in a lake.

Maybe make it a function of a food/chem factory.

Go to a body of water and select "harvest water". Type in how much you want. Like 100,000.

You get "unpurified water".

Go to a food/chem factory.

Insert "water purification schematic".

Insert water.

Turn factory on.

Come back tomorrow.

Take out 100,000 usable water.

---

I mean really. It's WATER. This is not a resource that should be worth a **edit** thing on Naboo. I can walk 50m from my house and be standing in a river that goes into an ocean, I think I could get all the water I want.

I think that having to harvest water and purify it, is more work, but i think it makes sense. Water should be easy to harvest on high moisture planets but some purification does make sense. Perhaps some recipes ask just for water (any kind) and other ask for specific kind either purified or unpurified or both.

Good idea Pecos.

what's a high moisture planet then? Best I've found on naboo on the latest resource reset if 42%. I had to planet hop through 4 planets to get 48% on rori. Its ridiculous I need twice as many harvesters to get an equal amount of water as a weaponsmith who makes a lot more money needs to some metals. Finding a 90% spot of metal isn't that hard. getting over 50% water can be a nightmare with a bit of bad luck. (and it takes a lot of luck to find 60% water)

Depends on the server. (STARSIDER here)

I get 980 (i believe) quality water on Tatooine with my harvester on a 70% vein.

Corellia i understand has 993 or something like that.

When I say High Moisture planets I mean exactly that, like its pretty obvious Tattooine is a dessert, Naboo is almost tropical, Corellia it rains half the day (depressing) and so on.

heh... that's funny... the very FIRST time I tried using my water surveyer I went down near a stream... only to have it come up with a 12%... after running around for about 15 minutes I finally found a pathetic 36% no where near a body of water...

It doesn't really make sense. I can understand how minerals,gas,etc...might be rather random. but water should have some sort of pattern on the non-arid planets.

On a similar note... it would be REALLY nice if when you see a LOT of plant growth that there is actually a high % of flora there... you would think that when I see wheat flowing in the breeze I would find a pretty good concentration ofwheat there... and the same goes with flowers. This would be GREAT instead of a survey pounding survey all over the place... one can just look over the turain and get a feal for what MIGHT be there.

With shifiting resources, wouldn't making the resources intuitive be difficult? As for water, maybe we shouldn't think of it as just water. Maybe think of it as a pure natural spring? That helps me come to grips with being unable to locate water in the middle of a pond.

Iron, yeah it would make it more difficult as they would have to compensate for areas that resources could not shift too, but it's nice to dream about I guess lol.

"Maybe think of it as a pure natural spring?"
yeah, good point.
