Thread: Don't despair food eaters/makers! Spice + Food + Drink + Doctor Buffs all stack!
Spices are stackable with food and drink. Spices are separate from food, even though the stupid Bazaar lists it as food. Hopefully, if they take Sir Vimes's suggestion, they'll place spices in a SPICE category. Should be very easy to do.
You can take spiceAND consume food, say air cake, attheSAME time and both will stack. Even better it'll all stack with doctor buffs too. So if you want to be super hard to kill, get doctors to buff you, spice to drug you up, and food and drink to keep you full. It's quite sick. I actually thought it didn't stack with each other but it does because I ate Grey Gebaki and Exo-Protein wafers at once and I was able to consume both.
What I did was eat the Exo's to the point where it said I was full. Then I took the spice. I ate the spice and got the buffs from the spice and the Exo's buff was still kicking in. Other people that I know of, high skilled people (smugglers, pistoleers, riflemen, etc) told me it does stack and they take it all in whenever they can. Sweeeeeet.
So that's real good, now we all get to share the market with other professions. I must admit though, the buff numbers on food and drink still suck but hey, I'm still going to be chef anyway unless sales are deplorable. However, I actually do like how the duration is kind of low so that means they consumed a lot faster and customers have to buy lots of it or be willingto pay lots of money for high-charges of foods and drink. We could make 100 items of stuff that can get consumed at a rate ofa few minutes per item. More power and cash to us, or at least hopefully in the future, me =). Maybe if they changed/fixed the stacking issue it'll be godly for every chef and food maker.
I'll post this in a new thread so others will know of this common misconception. If for some reason they don't stack, /bug it. But for me, next time I want to solo reds I'm getting it all.
Food, drink, spice, doctor buffs, yums.
This is a response to a thread about food on the Corbantis boards. This is why unless are buffs are buffed we will always play third fiddle.
I can doon average1000 point buffs to health, action, strength, constitution, quickness, stamina. They last for 1-2 hours, as long as i don't cross any server lines(bug). Its nice being a master doc.. mind buffs might be nice if you could do those.. But then again.. only lasting for 1 or 2 minutes.. that doesn't sound to me like it'd be totally worth it.
Yeah. But I think of it this way, with this super high rate of consumption, customers would always come back for more, and quickly, and buy lots of it.
I come from the point of view of making credits so hehe. I actually like the durations as is but the attributes are terrible. Even after the experiments on it, people wouldn't really run over to your store or take the time on the bazaar to buy 100,3 use +40 action buff biscuits or something like that. Even if it were 20 credits I wouldn't bother with it. The hassle for the benefit is just dumb, especially with all the bazaar lag and FPS lag. But hrmm, 100,10 use +100 action buff biscuits, now there's something.
I think if they "fix" or modify the stacking, especially with factories, then maybe it'll work. I'm too tired to critically analyze this so I'll leave it for the others. Let's hope good stuff in the next few patches!
**edit**, where's the edit button, oh well.
Yeah, I read about how the food buffs are suppose to last a long time, or at least longer than others. I think what changed their mind was $$$. They might have envisioned the problem of food that lasted for 2 hours but only costed like 200 credits each. Much like how the slow decay rate problem is plaguing other professions, chefs are on the opposite side of that spectrum. Hell, even doubling the food duration/buff time wouldn't be too bad either. But if anything, I'm ok on the ultra-fast rate of consumption though. Our food is still pretty cheap for what it does and in the future, can do, so the duration should reflect that. Foods that cost us 1500 credits or so to make a piece, if it lasted 2 minutes, then yes I'd agree with all the other angry chefs/food makers. Then again if it was that good and people bought them in droves, by the 1000's, then I wouldn't be so angry, in fact I'd be happy hehe. But I'm a money-maker so otherswould perceive it a different way, which is fine.
