Use the practise option... Yes you wont make money but instead of getting 70XP for each Starshine you get 100... and if you don't watch what your doing you will be done in no time

Also I guess I'm going to need to make some more bone armor, now that you can change hues...

It's awesome too cause the bone armor takes you one step closer to looking like the Halo 'droid!

If you're willing to make other things for gcxp toward Novice Chef, Travel Packs will give 175xp/per if you practice.

I must admit that it is very interesting that I can make harvesters and bone armor and it gets me closer to Novice Chef than 5 times as many food items, thanks for the practice tip on the Starshine!

Oh, and don't discount the wonderful "soft undershirt" you get at DA 3. It gives you 94XP or so with the bonus now! =)

Um.....Granted, I usually count on my fingers and all....but you get a 5% bonus, right?

5% of 70 is 3.5. So instead of getting 70xp, you get 74xp.

For a while practice WAS dishing out 25% more, a boo boo on the programmer's part. I don't know if they changed it back to 5% yet though, I haven't been able to play, college is getting in the way lol.

Practice tonight was still at 25%. Ruby bliels (hey, I had the ingredients readily available) were giving 87 instead of 70, and 87 = floor(70x1.25).

I think this game greatly rewards you for diversifying early in character development and specializing later in development. I am a scout/medic/artisan/marksman. I started by getting Exploration 2/Hunting 1/Pistol 2 by capping gubburs on Corellia for their yummy Carnivore Meat (900+ for flavor/potential energy/overall quality on Bloodfin. Yay!). I also surveyed for about 8 hours to get a general feel for ingredient quality, etc. So yesterday I begin "the grind," which I swore I wouldn't do, but I can't bring myself to sell junk. To my surprise, artisan so far is a breeze. Yesterday I got engineering I-III and DA I-III in about 6 hours, and I was grinding food only. Bofa Treats, then Crispics, then Carmelized Pkneb. I am halfway to DA IV right now. Grab a couple of destroy missions, getting tasty animal meat/bones in the process. With the credits from 2 destroy missions, I can buy 500 organic off the bazaar (that's about 4 creds a resource). Now you have meat/bones + organics to make some not-so-tasty treats. Of course, once I max Engineering/DA I will slow down, since now I can make some quality stuff, so it might take me a week to make novice chef, but hopefully I'll make some credits along the way. I think it's only like 20000 XP for novice? That's not too bad. I do dread getting skilled up in chef, though....I think the reason it takes so long for people is that they try and do it all themselves. Get some credits and buy the stuff...it's much faster. Now if you are going *only* chef, you're walking a hard road...your character should be like your portfolio: diversified! :-)
