Mind wound healing classes are the Entertainers the chefis pretty closeto the "artisan" of the cantina , because they are a Bartender ..

Well there is alot of crying for medics or doctors to be given a mind heal stim pack , but I figure the Chef is as much of a suport character as them... The mind heal would be too powerful for the medics because then they would be able to keep themselves pretty maxed out all the time.

That would bring up some balancee issues ..

For this idea to work it wouldhave to be a Chef used object like a stim pack. Not a chef product anyone could buy and carry it would have to be used like a stim pack but look like a Drink.

Novice chef would be needed to obtian the ability to use these heals. Why not novice artisan ? so its out of reach of a Power gammer who wanted to get mind heals action heals and health heals AS well as complete a combat tree.

for balance reason it would drain the chefs health or action when ever used. So that they would not be able to use it to heal themself.

Example of what I mean.

Novice Chef

Cantine of Water for now

They could be called Cantines[to anyone who doesn't know its acanvese water carryingcase military andoutdoors people like to carry.] but work like stim packs .

Okay , you need a but of imagination to let this work , but it makes just as much sence of someone randomly giving you a needly in the arm for a stim pack (people drink the other guys cantines just as much as they get morphine in war movies!)

(the chat window would read something like this)

You target joe.

you fill the cantine with a fruity drink.

You tighten the cap and toss the drink to Joe!

Joe takes a sip from the Cantine and is healed for 55 mind damage!

then every level up into chef they would get longer range like a combat medic , so that at master chef they had decent range but only half the range of a combat medic.

then the way the heal got beter was with Experimentation points , so all novice chefs would have the Cantine , but only high level in Cooking Arts would be able to heal for alot.

It would be a pretty good balance , the chef is already a suport character.. this would give them a more active role in agroup and would make chef more fun and add more players to the profesion.

This was just a idea I had to make the chef more active , and give it a more group friendly aproch while fixing a issue of no mind heal to the game.. It makes perfect sence to me.. but thats probibly because it was my idea

The argument against mind heals is mostly to do with riflemen.

Rifles have the lowest damage-per-second of any of the Marksmen weapons, by a fairly large margin. Riflemen also get the biggest damage multiplier when they're hit by a melee attack. These are the negatives that offset the positive of attacking the mind pool.

If mind damageheals are implemented in any fashion, then the Rifleman class will have to be reworked as part of this process.

As a chef, I agree that your concept is a sensible one and would fit in well with what we do.

As a rifleman, I have to suggest that nobody should have a mind heal unless you're going to improve the stats of every rifle in the game.

Riffle has the least dps maybe

mind is the weakest stat out there only 1 race can have extremly high mind.

But its not true that they are the weakest weapon, it hits the hardest per shot , anyone who PvPs knows that Frontload is always beter then damage over time in PvP battles wwhich typically do not last long enough for any real benifits for damage over time to over take the frontloader.

The in melee disadvantage should be thrown out , any ranged fighter caught in melee will just get knocked down over and over ..

But the Riffle man can just take up a brawler profesion just to counter that

Fencer and TSA both can target the mind as well as the riffle making them perfect for the guardsmen to use once a melee character reached them.

Hmmm...I have a Medic character, and I've noticed that if I play in Medd Center for a while, I seem to suffer from "Stat rot" in my secondary mental stats. Focus and Willpower degenerate to numbers that are lower than they should be, given the number of wounds to those stats.

I've also noticed that if I eat or drink in the cantina (I'm still using the initial Melons from starting and I *think* that the drink I have came frmo there as well), those stats are "corrected."

My questions:

1) Is this normal behavior?

2) Would food from a Chef have a similar, salutary effect?

3) Do other classes using other stat pools also suffer from "stat rot"?

4) If so, does food have the same saultary effect for them?

I'm thinking that perhaps an option would be to have people suffer a very slow "rot" to secondary statistics if they don't periodically eat and/or drink, which would give a perfectly natural reason for them to visit a local bakery, cantina, or some such and purchase the output from a chef.

I say this even though I do not yet have a chef character (but am thinking of creating one).
