Thread: Buff's aren't just unbalanced. They are actually bugged...

So... I was trying out a bunch of recipes from Mixology III today... only to find an interesting bug(apart from all of them sucking ass... I was getting some really promising results trying lower tier recipes with aludian pu36)...

Experimenting on some garrmorl, once I hit about 15%, the effects stopped increasing... except the effect was only +61! And then using some different scaley hide it stopped at 53!

So in summary: chef with mixology III, and Cooking IV makes an item that gives +53 quickness for 90 seconds. LOL.

I suspect that whats wrong may not actually be bad balancing, but a major bug... and that it has to go near the top of next weeks priority list...

Until shortly I was an advocate of the chef food being fairly balanced, but after this(and several other mixIII recipes) turned out to be complete duds with cooking IV level experimentation I'm disgusted. I always expected these buffs to increase stats very quickly when experimented... I can make a +200 meatlump which lasts for 5 minutes and has 5 uses, but a mixIII recipe that gives +53 for one and a half minutes with 2 uses? No thank you

chef buffs if not over 2000ham are useless

no and if or but about it , a master chef needs to be buffing people over 2000 ham I have been pvping and thats just going to pan out to 2 or 3 hits

a TSA will smack you for 1200 and knock your down in a just a few seconds

a Riffle man will head shot you for 1100 and then give you a 700 a tick dmg dot in 2 shots

The Damage is way high and buffs are just way to low.

Personaly I would advocate +5000 stats on great quality experimented food

That way the PvP in this game would last long right now its a one shot battle ..

Im sorry but chef is useless

Quickness Focus and STR have too tiny of a effect to be worth buffing unless say your a squad leader or a Bio Engineer working on dna sampling

Willpower Con and stamina are great for PvE useless in PvP

Attacks are just too powerful the Underhand shot will kill anyone in 1 shot unless they have a smuggler or doctor buff

Note I say Smuggler or Doctor not a chef , chef buff wont save you from a one shot death

The Tatoonie sunburn sould be used as a example.

Desserts needs to be changed

Entries needs to be changed

Entries 2 needs a +1500 con +1500 focus -90 quickness food

Desserts 2 needs a +1500 willpower +1500 quickness -90 str food

Then they need to add to Mix/Entries/Desserts 3

+1500 health to entries

+1500mind to dessert

+1500action to mixology

All the buffs past level 2 need to be for 1000 or more with out experimentation

This is not only good for the chef its good for the game...

I'd be quite satisfied if everything past tier 2 was +200 without experimentation, and with a lot of experimentation goes up to +500. With the buffs for ham bars being higher (+400/+1000 maybe).

Your suggestion has one major flaw: It works for PvP, but it makes people far too powerful for PvE. What needs to be done is chef's need to get a fair powering up, but PvP damage rates have to be reduced ten-fold just to make it last more than 5 seconds.

And like I said, I believe the experimentation is actually BUGGED/BROKEN for some stuff. Not badly balanced. There is no way something should ENTIRELY STOP IMPROVING once it's been experimented to 15%, and that is my issue here, which is separate from the balancing(which I acknowledge needs to be adjusted a lot as well)

Tattoine Sunburn doesn't experiment well either, right? At least I haven't noticed it increase significantly as the nutritional value goes up. Almost looks like there is a glass ceiling for a lot of our foods and drinks.

It's a little sad to hear that our foods are still not that great with Cooking IV. I hope it doesnt take them months to fix this imbalance.

I was able to increase it by another 350 points, and a minute and a half, pretty good if you ask me

reducing damage in PvP never goes over good with players

usualy cause mass histaria and msg board whiners

buff that do the same thing are usualy beter.

the secret would be make PvE monsters harder thats what most people are complaining about its too easy right now.

I noticed this when I was working on domestic foods. What I tended to notice was a cap on nutritional value and experimental quantity that, once reached, further experimentation was pointless.

My suggestions are to practice until you have these down on all your foods. Then focus on Flavor, as I've never seen that max out before all the boxes where filled. The rest of your points can be put into the other two until they're both maxed.

I was able to experiment granylinjuice from a buff with a buff and a debuff to one with +200/+50 buffs... seems a bit odd, but if all the higher tiers progressed from a guideline like this, we could have a decent profession...

+200 isnt that great

+200 focus saves a medic about 30 mind per use of a stim willpower would be more usefull then that.
