I hate to point it out but crafting not being based on anything is kinda, well, retarded. While its great for grinding, its just not realistic. I mean if I, as in the human playing the game, could keep myself from killing myself and grind for 24 hour straight (and having that ungodly amount of resources), my "avatar" never gets tired??? What sense does that make?
So my point is, shouldn't crafting use action or mind, maybe both? Surveying uses action, dancing uses action, combat uses action, medicating uses mind. Why is crafting exempt?
If we place any type of meaning on this then, crafting is a mindless and unproductive activity, which I think everyone would disagree with. As would the economic facts of the game, ie crafted items being worth the most.
Something to think about, even if all crafters are going to hate me when we all get nerfed...
doh!
Apologies In Advance,

Merchants have to go to the extreme lengths of *drumroll* Place A Vendor!
Yup, that's it. Place a vendor, wait a day, place another, wait 2 days, place another etc - all without lifting a finger
Surveying and combat use no resources. Healing uses no resources - only packs which..... are crafted using no action/mind.
Let me point out that using Stewed Gwouch to grind on, you are looking at 8320 Practice Mode gwouch's to get to master.
That's 108160 mouse clicks, 166,400 water, 249,600 organics and a hell of a lot of time.
I consider myself a powerleveller, simply because I have 16 hours a day available to play the game. It has taken me a month to get to Master, and for the time I've spent, I think thats a reasonable period.
Now, add into that AM use, and you are turning the crafts into an even larger grind.
That's fine by me, but then make Ranged combat need bullets/batteries at a credit a shot. Make sampling wear out survey tools every 10th sample. Make unarmed combat users require boxing gloves that need replacing every 3 fights. Make maskscent require a chemical spray etc.
This is a game, it is not supposed to be "inflict as much pain and suffering on someone that wants to craft".
Getting to master is expensive. It takes a LOT of time. It takes a lot of resources. It gives you RSI.
I think that is enough
