Thread: thieves put me out of business...

yup, that's right I might be turning in my chef hat (that hasn't been put in-game yet) tomorrow.

I logged on tonight to see what was going on and low and behold I had an email from my merchant with a nice fat 26 crate order for the week. I knew I didn't have all he wanted in my still growing backstock, but i knew i had some of it. so i began my factory rounds picking stuff up. I had 10 crates of various stuff totaling about 400k retail. As I was writing down the order on paper and marking off what was left, I got "zapped" and lost my connection to SWG, with no prior warning (no lag, network status was pinging at 200, 0% packet loss, and 15fps).

I logged back on and found myself at coordinates 0,0 on Corellia, which is roughly 7k from where I was when I got "zapped." My buddy also lost connection at the exact same time and he logged back in a few seconds after I did. He then laughed because I got zapped out so far (which was a good thing cause it saved me a partial trip out to my harvesters). Then he told me that he had lost 100k of primo resources, plus advanced medical components for Pet Stims (he's a master BE) that he had placed in his factory right before he lost his connection. He filled out a /bug report and a CSR ticket. In the meanwhile, I checked my inventory to see if my stuff was still there. Nope, not there.

Stuff like this has happened before (not the 0,0 zoning, but having to redo stuff that happened about 10 minutes before i lost connection), so I figured everything was back in the factories. When I returned, I did not find my goods. Anywhere. I checked and rechecked the input hoppers, output hoppers, my inventory, my backpack, and the ground around the last factory. Tried Relogging. Nothing. Now I became "upset."

So I filled out a /bug report. Listing in-detail what I had lost and what the itemized value was. I hit the submit button. And then I got a system message that said something like "Ticket creation failed. You have reached your maximum amount of open tickets, please delete one and resubmit." I have not even submitted a bug in the past two months and have NEVER submitted a CSR ticket. So that was obiviously quite pointless. And further demoralizing as well.

So in short, I have lost my livlihood and there isn't a dam thing I can do about it. Now do I just grin and bare it like I did with the broken stack, with the 1 stack factory crates, or with the buffing stack bug? No. That stuff affected everyone, this time it hit me personally. Sure I can just redo everything I lost and ignore what happened, but that just feels "dirty." So if my crap isn't in my factories, bank, inventory, backpack, house, or anywhere I can reasonably retrieve it, by tomorrow, I am quitting chef. THIS is the last straw...

Who knows I might even delete my account...

And I'll go ahead and say this: SirVimes thank you for all the hard work you have done for us, it is a task I surely would not want to tackle. And I hope that it all really gets better for all the chefs across all galaxies, I know it has been a nightmare for many of us, myself included. Best of wishes to all chefs. And thanks once again SirVimes for listening to our bitching.

And I do apologize for ranting, but I had to vent...

Soon to be ex-Master Chef because theives stole ALL of my backstock of food and I do not have the resources (or money) to recreate the "stolen" goods nor do I think they will be back tomorrow...

Holy cripes, that sucks. I know something like that is going to get your emotions running, but could I offer a couple of suggestions?

First, you're going to want to use the "Customer Service" button in the in-game help (ctrl-H on my keymap), not /bug. I don't know if that still has the same stupid wrong "max limit reached" problem as /bug, though. If it doesn't work, try the CSR chat from the launchpad.

I haven't had lost items before (and haven't even heard of oneof your magnitude), but while you may not be able to get the exact items you lost, you may be able to get back anyraw resources and a credit reimbursment for the rest.

/toast tohoping it works out.

I have had two issues come up and a bug in the last few days; I created a CSR ticket and the next day when I went to add to it, it wasn't there, and the new one I summitted after that wasn't there. So looking for other options, I finally found a support email from the tech support and wrote an email there....that was two days ago. I summitted a /bug report for a bug and got the same message you did. I am really sorry for what has happened to you; I have never had something so serious happen to me, but frankly I have very few issues resolved though CSR tickets - I have heard positive things about the live chat function with CSRs getting things done (off the launch pad? Don't know how to do it). Good luck!

Ouch. That is reaaaaly frustrating.

I'm having a similar problem, not quite as sever.

I've got a med house on Naboo.I logged in shortly after the new patch. Upon having troubles with the venodr, I did a quick log to see if that would fix it. Ilogged back in onlyto find my house empty. Logging a couple more times failed to bring back anything. Some number of items were gone, many of whichencompassed my back inventory of food - crates of BoH, many crates of Sunburns. All gone. Although when I check the status of my house, the status screen shows all my items as still being inside the house. Also, food that was on my vendor (also vanished), has been expiring and I'm getting e-mails telling me those sales failed.

I've now hadtwo CSR tickets vanish, as well - one sent before I left town for the weekend, one sent today. I might just take my lumps - can the house and go find a player city to place in. Probably with a new house, as i no longer trust this one. I had some freaky problems with mouse speed in that house, as well.

Other vendors / houseson other plantes all working fine.

I would just wait on the CSR ticket. They always respond back to me.

I've had good luck with CSR tickets too. They are just a bit slow.

Good luck on getting any reimbursement from the ticket. That totally reeks of yesterdays leftovers

Sure, they answer the ticket, but it is a canned "We can not verify, so we can not reimburse" message.

No matter how many times you submit a comment explaining exactly what happened.

well, now i do consider myself to be one of the luckiest players in the game. I logged in today and found everything that had disappeared resting in my inventory. it was such a relief and now I feel childish for posting this thread. but if it hadn't been there, i don't know what I would have done...

I hope everything else turns out well for everyone else and hopefully these thieves will be captured.

Nah dont feel bad, it takes a lot of time to produce crates of stuff, had this happened to anyone else i'm sure they would have done the same thing.

I'm glad everything turned out for you, Aleka. It would be a shame to loose a good chef from Bria. 26 crates? Need help...lol..jk.
