Thread: Question about Sunshine/Sunburn and crates
My question is this: If I make a factory crate of 25 starshine surprise, with say 9 uses each, will each of those uses be used when I use them for Sunburn?
I made something like this a few weeks ago, and then made a schematic for sunburn, used the crates of starshine and noticed that the factory was counting each drink in the crates as one, disregarding each use of each drink.
I am assuming this is the stack bug that everyone is talking about. Has this been fixed? Or will I lose whole stacks?
I AM SCARED!!!
If it is still bugged, how do I make crates with a ton of items, with one-use stacks?
Thanks everyone in advance for your help
The item retrieved from the crate will be in a stack size of whatever size you ended up with via the creation of the schematic. Currently the drinks are bugged where you cannot determine the stack size during teh experimentation process.
The stack bug was one where you were not permitted to use items from a stack which was not finished after a server re-boot and is unrelated to any issues you may or may not be having with your factory.
The quality/quantity of the Starshines will have an indirect impact on the quality/quantity of the Sunburns, but will not result in single stack items being made into your finished crates.

In theory..... lol
The quality of the gas in the sunburns is the only thing that really matters.
I think what you're asking is if you have a crate of 25 starshines, and each stack you pull from the crate has9 uses, can you make 112 sunburns (9 * 25 / 2). The answer to that is no. Each starshine slot in the sunburn schematic uses a full stack of Starshine, so your 25 crate would be able to make 12 sunburns (with one 9 use stack of starshine left over). Think oftheSunburn recipe as requiring two bottles of Starshine (bottle = stack), not two drinks (drink = dose, multiple doses in a stack).
So for every crate of sunburn you want to make, you have to make two crates of starshines.
In theory (but as far as I can tell not currently in practice) if you used high-quantity starshines, you'd get high-quantity sunburns. So your 9 dose stacks could make a 5 use Sunburn, while a 4 dose stack of Starshines might only make a 2 or 3 use Sunburn. Right now it doesn't really make a difference, so use up any crappy cereal, mineral, and gas on the starshines. The only schematics that really have this confusion are the Sunburns and Vegeparsine, since they have lower-level finished items as components. If you use actual components (dough, carbosyrup, the various mixology alcohols, etc) the experimentation on the component does make a difference in the final item.

I just started making food again for the first time since the stat bug. Cranked out a run of Starshines to make Sunburns - used 900+ quality gas and experimented the quantity all the way up. Retrieved my beloved Sunburn crates from the factory and checked to make sure I had the usual 9-use stack...
6 uses??? I almost cried. Anyone else notice any changes to stack sizes since the patch?

Its been that way for a while...predating the last publish. I haven't been able to produce sunburns over 6 use in over a month (since the publish before last). I didfind someOLD gin and put it to good use...
hmm I haven't made sunburns in a while..... I made like 1000 a while ago and have been selling those off, they were 8 stacks.... prehaps I should have saved them =/
My rationale is that above 1600, another 100 or 2 isn't going ot make much difference.
I spend points in quantity until it's over 90%, so I can get 9 stacks, and put the 1 or 2 remaining into duration.

That's my reasoning, too. With 1500+ buffs, the Sunburn drastically reduces special attack costson theHealth bar, anddarned near makes the Action bar static. I don't know how much better1800+ buffs could possibly be. Not enough to sacrifice half your uses.
