I payed for trainingnearly all the time.Once I got the xp, I was generally in too much of a hurry to spend the time hunting down amore developedchef.

I went entrees I (to get stewed gwouch) and then mix II.
I payed for all my points too since there wasn't anyone around to train...
Cool being in on the ground floor...sucks on the pocketbook...but I spent a lot of time completing artisan missions.
I paid for every single chef box... But I have trained many others since then. ![]()

ditto... and ive only been master like 8 days... earned 410 apprentice since then, one good thing about holochefs
make that god bless normal chef, I just realized most of those points have come from jeracki, koor, and arialla, none of whome follow the holocron god like i did...

I'm a Scylla master chef. I paid for all of my chef boxes. I've only had to pay about half of my Bio-Engineer skills.
I've found that Mix II would be your best bet. Each Ithorian Mist gives you 170 xp (178 if you practice - which you should be doing with a macro).
I have paid for trainingfor all of my boxes except 2. There just aren't enough Chefs around to find one for training. And I'musually too impatient to wait untilone of the chefs on my friends list is on so I can ask them, LOL.Fortunately , in my PA there is another chef who is fast passing me in the climb to master, so I should soon be able to hit him up for free training now ![]()
The good part about being in a rare profession is the App points are no problem to come by. I just talk to every novice Chef I see and let them know that if they send me an e-mail or a tell I will run over and train them when they need it. I have more than enough app points to make master.
Just trolling a bit here, pardon my incessant presence on your boards ![]()
FINALLY got enough experience to pick up a first teir skill. Trying to decide if I should go for Mix 2 or get Entrees 1... I've heard both are good for experience. Anyway, that's my decision.
There'sa severe lack of chefs on Scylla, at least that I can find. Only two that I know of, rarely see them around. So now Im looking for an NPC to regularly train at, for those times I can't find another player. I'm a little sick of doing this... I did it with Ranger -way- back in the day before it was a fun profession, heh, and architect with my alt, as well as merchant... etc etc etc. How many of you had to pay for your training more than half the time?
I don't think I have anything I can make to sell for enough cash to keep up with it, and I was looking forward to a break from constant combat with this character. Don't make me go back to Dathomir!
Unfortunately, add me to the list of chefs who've paid the NPC for most of their training. *sigh* - even when I do a search - I can't find anyone! doh. Trying to guess when the whopping 5 master chefs are on while you're on...assuming you're not too busy to travel 3 planets to get to one...and assuming that you're rich enough to afford a ticket (dude, I was stuck on Talus FOREVER)...is sooooo hard. /cry
And I must not get out much cause I haven't even run into a Holo chef, much less a Master! So you can guess about how much apprentice points I've got due to teaching chef.
(doh...complain, complain, complain...sorry
I was the first Master Chef in my galaxy, so there wasn't anyone to train me. I dished out so many credits to that gender indecisive NPC at Kor Vella....
I need to hire some Mercenaries to get all my money back!
I trained 5 boxes with other chefs, but bought the rest. There were maybe three chefs in the galaxy while I was training and all of them were very hard to find. I'd finally qualify for a box, then they'd immediately go offline and not come back till I'd gone and trained in town. ![]()
I haven't ever trained anyone else in chef, despite being master for a couple of months already. That's probably because I wear the title of "Master Merchant" and so don't show up on searches. I've gotten at least 3k apprenticeship experience training merchant skills though.
I paid for every red credit of my training. I don't remember even running into any master or novice chefs on Bria except for two who had the same skills or less than me. I was almost a master when I trained my first fellow shef in a skill although I often shouted out advertisements in every city I would journey to.
It was fen though.
(Chinese pinyin 'fen' is pronounced 'fun' and has the meaning of 'excrement' when said with the falling tone)
