Thread: Website with list of all foods & stats?

I was planning to train Chef months ago but never quite got around to it

That time is coming up again but I can't find the website I looked at before which had all the foods listed with their base buff stats. It was a really good site too...

Does anyone here have a link to such a site? I can pick up the 'best' foods to make from here, but I'd still like to know what else I can make, given the chance

In this Chef Forum, you would have to search for it though, but since I'm being nice I'll look for it right now.

Here we go. I found it just that fast. I was the last to post it LOL.

The following guide was posted by a chef a LONG time ago that has disappeared soemhow. All the values are base (Before Experimentation) and NOT using best resources. The filling Issue that you asked about with how much can you eat depends on the resource the chef uses to cook the food, but that is ALSO something that's buggy. you think you're making it less filling and in result sometimes you get a food that you can only take ONE bite out of. Without further notice........

The BiG Ole List of Chef buffs.

Hope this helps..

NOTES
* All information in this guide may change until the release and after. The info is accurate for the above date
* This guide contains information that may spoil your gaming experience
* The buffs varies depending on resources used, success rate and experimentation. The buff list in this guide lists the values without any experimentation and using random resources. The values WILL vary ALOT depending on those 3 factors. Please use the list only to get information on base values
* Everything herein is just my personal experience and opinion so if you dont like it don't read
* This guide assumes you know the basics of crafting

So you want to become a Chef ?
The Chef profession is the buffer in SWG or at least the one providing most of the buffs. The food and drink that a chef make provide an increase to various statistics during a certain amount of time for the consumer.
You can eat and drink multiple food/drink items and the effects stack but you also have 1 drink bar and 1 food bar which show you the limit on how much you can eat and drink, after that you have to wait for the food to digest until you can eat more. The Chef profession has not been very popular during the beta, I'd venture to say I was the only Master Chef during that time. But it has been fun and rewading for me, even if it wasn't economicaly viable I enjoyed Roleplaying as an Expert Bartender in the cantinas.

To become a Chef you have to train Novice Artisan and then climb up the Domestics tree which also includes clothing items, during this stage you get General Crafting XP. At Novice Chef and up you recieve food crafting XP. The xp you get for each item is easy to calculate as it is the resources x 2 in 96% of the cases (only a few recipes yield more or less xp).
The resources you will be working with are organic so you will be out in the wilderness with your flora surveying tool most of the time sampling for organics, some recipes also require inorganics in small amounts.
For meat, hide and bones you will need to do some creature slaying, and then extract those from the corpses, for this you will need to train Novice scout or you can buy them from other players.
One of the biggest problems for a Chef is MILK, during the beta milk has been mostly nonexistent. It seems that some NPC's have milk on their loot table but very rare and in low amounts.

Ok so you have some resources...now it is time to cook, you can use the Generic Crafting Tool at start but you will want to make or buy a Food and Chemical Crafting Tool sooner or later.
For those who will want to grind xp as fast as possible just look for the recipe with the most and easiest to get resources and start clicking. Later on if you got the cash buy some Flora Farms and a Food & Chemicals Factory. These require power and credits for maintenance, a factory is also a must for the higher level recopes which require identical subcomponents that only a factory can provide.

Food and experimentation:
This is no guide to experimentation just a few notes.
If you dont like to spend time looking for the best resources for a certain recipe just go for the resources with the best overall quality.
You got 3 values to experiment on
1. Flavor and Texture which allows you to increase the duration of the effect
2. Nutritional Value which increases the power of the positive buff and decreases the side effect
3. Quantity which gives your food additional charges

Crafted Food/Drink Buff list

You have 9 statistics in 3 groups (red, green and blue)
RED -------- Health, Strength, Constitution
GREEN --- Action, Quickness, Stamina
BLUE ------ Mind, Focus, Willpower

As far as I know it works like this ....very simple said strength affects how much health you loose when using health draining actions like berzerk skill and constitution affects how fast you regenerate health.

It is the same for action and mind.

Dont mind the numbers in ( ) those represented additional buffs to all other statistics beside the main one and it is currently buged after they fixed the experimentation bug.

For example:
A crafter sampling for resources will use lots of Action points, a good quickness buff will help you lose less action points, adding a stamina buff will make you regenerate those points faster.

A medic will use alot of mind points when using his skills so those mind buffs are good for him.
Regardless of all this the Chefs best customer is the Creature Handler who feeds his pets with your delicius food.

Hey, if you have base information for the other milk Items could you post it here? I've been doing my best to update this list and see that I need help with it from our community. If you could post the base information it'd be appreciated.

Here's a link to a 'tabular' format of the information posted above. The data may not be exactly the same since the authors are different - but a tabular format might be easier for some:

Those stats are so far off it isn't funny. If you have full experimentation and use good crafting tools and materials, you will get far different numbers. Just one example:

The post says Vayerbok gives +60 health. I regularly get Vayerbok up to +350 to +385 Health.

Don't rely on that list.

Marty, there are TWO disclaimers on that guide.

  1. The original numbers are Jun 2003 values.

  2. These are all UNEXPERIMENTED and NOT good resources.

Martee has a point - **IF** you are a master, then the list is not useful to you, you'll want to know the max value of the buffs you can get.

However, if you are **NOT** a master...you will be interested in the nubmers of the non-master items base buffs (which is exactly what the original post requested byt he way). By accident - someone may falsely advertise the buffs that they can provide according to the lists posted if they do not have the full expertise to pull that kind of experimentation. For example, I might make it to Entrees I and be able to make a good buffing food (at it's max experimented buffs, it would be the best food for me to sell)...but without the experimentation tree traversed combined with being a novice - my experimentation points SUCK! I fail and on top of that I can only get items with one charge (and that's with good resources even). So when I calculate the value to my customer...I'm better off selling him/her my dom art food! Where as, if I had a master's skill - I could sell that Entrees I food cuz experimented it would be better.

Though we'd all like to be masters...we're not, however, we all still need to make money. So I'm gonna make the best of the stuff that I can make and sell it. So it IS important for some, especially the novices, to have the unexperimented lists so we can realistically project what REALLY is the best stuff we can provide to our customer and plan our menus accordingly. Though I might gain a new skill as a chef - it may not be best for me to sell that new food if my experimentation on it makes it unmarketable.

As far as the buff numbers being outdated, well, it is outdated, I have to admit - but there is the disclaimer so I cannot complain. But a number of us have also pointed out another useful website to use (see numberous posts just above or links referenced below) with updated numbers. No one says any list is an absolute list, you are responsible to double check the stats on what you sell, etc., etc...but I wouldn't go as far to say that the list isn't useful or isn't "informative". The list provides other basic information other than just the buff values. For a novice who knows nothing, this orignal list posted (amongst others) becomes their 'bible'. I can certainly say that the first list in this post was my 'rock' for a looong time until I could create my own spreadsheets where I updated the data as my skills progressed. The first list is informative to a newbie, but as you get better - a novice chef is better off tracking their own stats for food based on their own skills and having a separate max buff list for use as a reference as mentioned by martee. (This is where Martee has a point Phazon - you, personally, should be going by a different list but I'm assuming you already are) So far, these are the sites I use the most being at novice chef levels 4-1-2-1:

http://www.ralloszek.net/swg/chefimages.htm
http://www.ralloszek.net/swg/ChefPricing.htm

Another good resource is www.SWGCenter.com and www.SWGCraft.com. you can pull schematics from these websites as well as information on chef trainers, etc.

Martee - you are a driven person...we need people like you in our forums, but take it a little easier on the folks who are only trying to help. We're all learning as we go along. When and if you come out with that updated master max buff list as promised, you'll be everyone's new idol...hehe and I'll be sure to be looking for that list so be careful what you promise people - cuz this forum will bug you for information. Just ask Saitek & SirVimes!

(really...Martee - it'd be nice to have that list. thanks man!)

That being the case Phazon, I think its pretty uninformative. Why would anyone make Breath of Heaven (for instance) without experimenting it? Anyone not in the know reading this would quickly conclude that buying food and drink is clearly not worth the money, which is an idea I don't want floating around out there.

When I make Master Chef (should be within the next couple of days), I am going to post a complete list of all the worthwhile foods and drinks I can make, with a fully experimented range of buff stats (assuming the use of decent materials). That will be a far more useful chart than this, in my ever-so-humble opinion.

(Note that when I say "worthwhile," I mean that if Food A gives +200 stam and -100 strength, and Food B gives +300 stam and +100 mind, I am not going to even both including Food A in my menu)
