Thread: So I hear you guys need some fish?
Well Im a ranger who enjoys the fishing... as you may know, finding fish with good quality is very hard, and getting more than a couple units of it per fish is even increasingly difficult.
So what is the going rate for fish meat for you all?Or is it not really as necessary as I have been told?
Eggs and fish are more valuable to bioengineers. Chefs can use them in any recipe calling for "meat", but since BEs have schematics specifically calling for eggs and "seafood" (which I'm pretty sure fish qualifies for) I usually pass on it.
Wait, wait, wait fish finder. " I " have need for you and your kind. I accept fish because many Bio-Engineers DON'T have time to look for it. I will accept stacks of Fish (not for any super price like 10 or more creds per unit), although any stacks below 600are useless for my needs.

Fishing takes a good 5 minutes per fish and yields a very small amount of units
If you want fish you need to pay a lot more than 10 cpu or else the master ranger would be better off spending his time running delivery missions
You know they should really look into changing that....."Why should a master ranger only be able to catch a small fish that yeilds1 to 10 units of when a novice scout can do the same thing?"
Personally I believe if rangers do ANYTHING having to do with harvesting resources from creatures (any creature), their harvest bonuses should apply and they be allowed to gather a good percentage more than what the average scout would. If I continue this I'm gonna start ranting about how rangers should begetting milk from live creatures.....aww flipit I'll rant anyway.

Bio-Engineers can take DNA samples....Rangers can Camo and sneak up on creatures on any planet....Why not combine these things to allow a ranger to sneak up on female creatures and use a BE device to extract milk from them. The creature would make a maskscent/Camo check on the ranger and if it wins it attacks the ranger; if not, it continues being milked. The yeild would be dependant on your Harvest Mod Stat.
BEs should also make fishing nets that only rangers can use that allow them to catch maybe 10 fish at a time. The abilty to use the net trap should be in the "Advanced Trapping I" skill box.
