Thread: Force Crafting and Chef
Basic Information
The Grind Food
Thakitillo, granted at Master Chef is the best item that the chef can grind for chef experimentation. It grants 367 chef xp per craft, requires 25 units of Greens, 25 Fungi, 20 Water and 20 Soft Wood.
The Cap
Chef Experimentation caps off at 120k. Thus meaning, any items ground once you hit this mark will not grant you xp.
Conversion Rate and Force Crafting
The conversion rate for chef xp to force crafting xp is 5:1, meaning for every 5 chef xp, you get one force crafting xp.
The four trees in crafting mastery are Force Experimentation, Force Assembly, Force Repair Bonus and Crafting Technique. Each have skill box experience requirements of 175k force xp for Tier 1, 250k force xp for Tier 2, 350k force xp for Tier 3, 450k force xp for Tier 4.
Advanced Calculations
Experience
Adding up all the four Tier's experience, we come to a result of 1225k Force Crafting experience per tier. Multiplied to cover the four tiers, we come to a total of 4900k Force Crafting experience.
Since the ratio is 5:1 for chef experience to force crafting experience, the 4900k Force Crafting experience thus converts to 24500k, or 24.5mil Food Crafting experience.
Amount of Crafts
Since we know that thakitilo, our best crafting food, grants 367xp per craft, we can thus calculate the amount of times we will have to craft thakitilo in order to reach Force Crafting mastery.
24,500,000 / 367 = 66,757.49, rounded to 66,758. This is the total amount ofthakitillos that must be crafted.
Time the Grind Will Take
Now, say for instance you have a grinding macro for crafting. This macro cycles through five or six tools in a set amount of time. If your macro is like mine, it will take rougly 6 and a half seconds to cycle through each tool, and craft each thakitilo.
Multiplying the seconds amount by the amount of thakitilos needed to craft, we reach a value of 433,927s, or 5.022 days of straight crafting. This value is only correct in a perfect situation. In other words, you can never go up all four trees in this amount of time.
In reality, there are added time decays, such as the amount of time it will take to cash in your experience once you are capped, or the amount of item failures that you get due to not paying attention or lagging out. A rough estimate, but this is probably about 5-10% of your crafts.
Taking the above into consideration, it will most likely take 5.27 to 5.52 days to completely grind the profession, if you are grinding nonstop, 24/7.
Resource Requirements
Going back to the 66,758 thakitillo number that we had come to earlier, we can take this, and calculate our exact resource requirements for the entire grind.
Since thakitilos require 25 Fungi, 25 Greens, 20 Water and 20 Soft Wood, multiplied by the number of thakitilos that you must grind, we find that you will require 1,668,950 units of both Fungi and Greens, and 1,335,160 units of both Water and Soft Wood.
Again, as said before, this is assuming that you do not lag, or fail to click through the crafting stages properly resulting in lost resources.
Total Number of Mouse Clicks
Assuming you have a macro doing this, which you should, you need to click the mouse a total of 8 times. Two for each resource, for four resources. Multiply this value by the number of thakitilos that you have to craft, and you thus have to click the mouse 534,064 times. Over a period of 5.022 days, that entails 106,344 mouse clicks a day, or 74 mouse clicks a minute.
Tips for the Grind
Macro
This is your #1 best friend. Sure it will add some element of error, but it will speed your production by at least 500%. It reduces the amount of times you have to hit the enter key, or click the next button as well, basically meaning that you only have to click on the resources, as commands for them cannot be built into a macro.
The Village
For the fastest grind, stay at the village. I suggest crafting in the hut behind Paemos, the man who exchanges your experience. This just means that you don't have to spend time doing the half an hour drive to the village every time you have capped.
Music
For best results on your sanity, please play music, or have the TV going in the background. I would hate it as much as you if grinding for a video game drove you to a ward or something.
Best Wishes, and Good Luck on achieving those skills!
