I am a master chef that reads this boards a lotbut dont post much. I think the new patch sounds exiting and are like the rest of u hoping the new food will be good. This one thing tho I cant figure out, please help me here.

I have seen a couple of revamp food listing, the most recently from the corresponded of TC.

Spiced Tea is listed as follows:

Buff: +35-60

Dura: 30-60

Filling: 8-7

now with filling 7 you can take 14 of these, lets just say you make them +50, that sounds about reasonable with 7 filling. That would make u buff 14*50=700 on mind!!!!! If you use +60 like stated as max you get +840mind!!

This makes the best mind buff and therefore the best of all buffs (most peeps use food for mindbuffs), and its a novice artisan item!!! Any artisan could make our possible best seller just as good as us

Please tell me what I am missing here, this cant be right.

well, each use takes time to drink during combat, so it makes for a crappy last resort option, other then that though i would have to agree this is a complexing issue.

Ya know... I didn't even think of that. I could very reasonably surrender Chef, and make a living selling crates of artisan food. Not that I'm going to... but oy, what a headache!

Why havent anyone talked about this before?

Are peopleafraidto talk about this sodevs find out and nerf this too like they nerfed vasharian brandy?

Why would they nerf this? This is actually a potentially unbalancing product. Who needs special mind products from Chefswhen you can go up the Domestics Line and the Engineering Line and still come out on top?

Depending on how easy it is to make, using 14 charges can get expensive.

This is no excuse.

An artisan who can make light buffs with low fills equals a mchef who can make Heavybuffs with high fills...

I smell problems...you know what..even know i sell fishak like crazy..the last 2 days i made 700k selling crappy fishak...this will never gonna happen again...trust me..

Just to bring up another possibility:

I could've screwed up the data entry (those numbers look like the ultimate source was my spreadsheet).

If Spiced tea had the same filling range as the other artisan stat buff foods, it'd be 11-7. I might've just mistyped the current filling of my test Tea into max value. For most of those foods, the filling "rollover" points (where it drops by 1) are at 25%, 50%, 75%, and (theoretically) 100%. So you could get an 8 filling, but you'd have to spend quite a few experimentation points to get up to 75%, and have some pretty good OQ/DR ingredients. And after that, you won't have many experimentation points available for buff size.

sure,,but the clock is tickin..

i expect chaos for the first month..we still dont know an efective way to price our food, the majority of our customers know nada about the new stuff and i bet that most of them will ask you to make old good fishak..

Put in the mix the need for BE items and the ability to milk (jeez) and u get a pretty good idea where we are going..oh did i mention that i didnt find any weakness in the previous chef system?

anyway we wait and see.....ooff..

In combat I would much rather have a +300 buff on all mind stats than have just a 700 mind buff.

+300 all allows for faster regen, lower drain and you still have a decent bonus to overall mind. There are different situations for each, but I would rather use 2 items instead of 10-14 every 30 minutes.

I agree. I've also noticed this (about the artizan foods). What I had recommend to people complaining about the patch is 2-3 doses of Brandy combined with 2-3 of these (if you can get the filling down low enough). That would give you about a +400 to mind and +300 to the mind sub-stats, which is considerably better than the current Fishak (+450 to mind only).

It's for that reason I have stopped manufacturing any Fishak, while my main competitor in town has made about (no exageration) over 400 cases. Once people realise that Fishak has a filling equal to the above, and only buffs one stat, the price for Fishak will tank. I'm trying to sell everything I can before this patch hits.

The new buffs are fine. Fishak does have a replacement. The problem is none of the mind food has that.

Maybe all the rebels will have a Coronet Fishak Party to protest the new Imperial regulations.
