Yep, what I feared has happened.
To compete as a chef, you MUST use BE additives, the problem is, unless you have a pocket BE, you are stuck.

The meat requirements for additives, plus the crafting time (over 2.5mins each) are prohibitive to the BE's because of the sheer quantity we need as chef's.

Chef's are now going to need 2 accounts to craft effectively, as we now need Master Chef, Tailor with Formal Wear 1 (getting tailors to sell you trim is another problem), Bio Engineer, Master Scout (to get the meats) and a high-ish weapon skill to kill Mawgax's in sufficient quantity :/

We then need about 4 factories constantly on the go to make ONE product.

Yes, the food & drink dont seem as bad as I feared, and some are VERY nice, but this total and utter reliance on other classes is now my #1 issue - #2 is barrels not working, #3 is Vercupti being a lower pet buff than Blap Biscuits and utterly useless anyway.

The meat requirements in the additives is really a BE issue, but it affects us to the core. A simple move away from Domestic meat to something else (though PLEASE not Avian) could resolve this issue instantly, along with reduced complexity of additives.

Overall, my crafting time has increased per item with the new change, rather than decreased.

I have 50 crates of Trim that I was supplied with for free and a BE has agreed that if I can supply most of the milk and meat, he will cover the rest and will contract his work out to me. I also have another BE who is willing to do it for free in my guild. It's about getting around to multiple BE's and ordering as opposed to one. Hire Rangers to get milk and meat, etc.

Also, foods don't REQUIRE BE stuff. People will still buy the non-be stuff, I've seen it happen. I made some good PvP foods (+dodge, damage reduction, etc) and went out to PvP the other day and whiped the floor with the advantage. They claimed we were stacking because of the insane dodge and damage reduction we had. It's going to be worth it to make regular food too.

The food may not require it, but compare one chef selling _400 vasarians, and another selling +180's - even withthe price difference, the majority of people will go for the highest.

Take a look at doc buffs, how many people go looking for non-master doctor buffs ? Not many, and if so, it's usually a last resort because they cant find any Masters. It's a numbers game now, and the highest wins.

Unfortunately, many chef's will be squeezed out of the market simply because they cannot supply high enough stats on the popular items.

I have 2 accounts, so if I need to, I will go Master BE on the second, but many people aren't in that situation.

Many BE's are already under pressure to supply CH's, non-CH's (pet stims) and Tailors, and simply cannot manage to supply a single chef, never mind several.

I can't agree more. Resource requirements aside, so far most of the food items that I've made are utterly useless as they stand without a Bio-Engineered component. It's a very bad plan to create a reliance of this magnitude where a class simply cannot make useful things without another class. I think it's definitely a good idea to have Bio-Engineered components to make foods better; but they should do just that, make them better, not simply bring them to the point of usefulness. This is primarily a problem with the skill mod bonuses, the attribute buffs appear to be fine from what I can tell.

Novice Chefs and Novice B-Es should team up, as cranking out light additives is a great way of grinding. The BE gets more usage XP when the chef crafts the BE additive to the chef additive than by actually crafting the item. The chef gets 30% better single stacks.

Magwax? Domestic Meat? Huh?

Take another look at the recipes for BE additives. One of them, inexplicably, is 10x easier to gather resources for than the others. Furthermore, this one also happens to be the most useful additive type there is. There are only three additives: Light Nutritional, Medium Nutritional, and Heavy Nutritional. Forget the other 9, they produce lesser effects for far rarer resources. I have no idea which Dev specced the additives, but he was clearly clueless, and we've benefitted from it.

Collecting 20 meat of any random type isn't all that hard, even in bulk. Myself and one friend (I have hunting IV, he's a master Scout) collected 60k meat in the last couple days. I'm actually more concerned about how quickly making additives is going to tear through my flora stockpile and my cask ingridients than I am about meat availability.
