I must say that I was wrong about the downsides of the chef revamp. The overall effect of it is very beneficial to me, and it made me take new interest in the profession. In addition, the new ratio of resource requirements / minutes of effective buff per stack has made it possible for casual gamers to enjoy the benefits of Chef buffs - something that we can take advantage of to enlarge our markets quite a bit!
All in all, I would give high points for creativity, and (for SOE) a relatively bug-free launch. Thank you, GreenMarine, other hitherto unnamed developers, and of course SirVimes, the bestest correspondent around, as measured by the only meter that matters, results.
There is one showstopper still in Live (although by the time the servers go up, it might be fixed) - namely the stomach decay rate bug. While fixing this bug, I would ask you to occasionally post status changes to this thread - this should take around 30 seconds from you, but would mean the worlds to us.
The newly introduced dependencies to Tailor and Bio-Engineer are a all-around boon, as the practical result from the change seems to be, barring a surge in the BE population and their ability to get meat (wouldn't it be an interesting change to give Bio-Engineers a bonus for animal harvesting?) that chefs contract meat, hide and milk acquisition to scouts, buy schematics, and produce the additives themselves, thereby significantly raising the barrier of entry to the serious side of the profession.

Some background info to my revamp experience: I have two accounts, one which holds my houses and factories, BE skills, Scout and Doc, and my primary which has Master Chef, Master Artisan, and some Merchant. If I had only one account, I would not be able to play as Chef.

Im in the same boat as you. Im a master Chef/ Master Artisan and 2 boxes from Master Merchant. My main runs 10 harvesters. My alt is rifleman/Doc (probably going to BE) and holds my med house and 6 factories. Im borrowing 4 factories right now, I made 100 crates of food in the last 2 days and have sold over 60 of them already (normal not BE enhanced). If not for 2 characters id be going out of my mind. Im giving serious thought to a third account just to get more factories.
