I can't even make a tea bag without a bio-engineer holding my hand... I can see making classes more interdependent, but they went WAY overboard on this one. The bio-engineers are already in hiding from all the CH's and tailors tracking them down, and now it's the chefs after them too.

Also, whoever came up with the idea of requiring meat for the bio-engineered component of chef recipes should be hanged, drawn, and quartered. Doctors are already having to pay up to 100 cr/unit for meat to make buffs, and now we're going to have to compete with the bioengineers and chefs for what little supply there is. Couldn't you have used something else in the recipe? /rude devs

non BE food/drinks will sell. And the BE tissues are such a grea addition to the chef profession. It provides huge amounts of variability and Im all for that. Also if people want the BE food, tell them what meats/resources are required for the BE tissues, and have them gather it for you. They will do it, have people doing it right now as we speak. Its not as bad as you're making it seem. There are solutions out there.

The addition of using other profession's for components does make things more difficult, but the outcome of the product is TREMENDOUSLY improved.

My BE/Tailor and I have been extremely busy getting ready to throughout same great mind buffs, and i am very impressed so far. Although the base on the stuff without the additive isnt too great... but its not bad

And i dont think the revamp sucks just more steps in crafting the end product... change sucks but it sometimes needs to happen.

The revamp was the best thing that could have happened to us. There are several things I don't like but on the upside I now have more choices for sellable foods than I can create. With the old system I had about 5 total that were even worth the time to bother making.

The BE components for chef sucks. Sure it would be ok if the effect wasnt a 100% increase on the food, 25% and most people could live with it, but when it almost doubles the effect of brandy from 220 to 430 MFW, they are making it a neccessity, without it, your foods will suck.

I cant see why we cant have the additive and make the BE component optional, so the additive helps alot if you want to add it, and the BE component added to the additive would then increase it 25%.

And making your customers gather your resources is not a viable option, sure it helps for those who want to do it, give them some discount, yada yada..... butwhen you go buy a beer, do they tell you need to supply the wheat, or the sand to make the bottle ?

And while we are griping, why is it that we need soooooo much gemstone to make bottles, casks etc, isnt that a bit exccessive ? 150,000 units of gemstonesto make a factory run of 1000 drinks ?!?!?

Yes, when I go buy a beer, I also have a guy with a fish face next to me. And when I step out, my car drops down from the sky when I look at my palm pilot. Then I drink two beers and wait exactly 45 minutes for it to digest before I can have another. As Im driving back home, I see my neighbor walking buy with what looks like two giant crab dogs walking behind him. Pulling up to my house, I see some guy with a glowing sword get shot in the eye a few times and live. Yes Im all for comparaing real life mechanics to in game mechanics.

I have to disagree here.
Before the revamp, I couldn't grind chef...I was broke all the time. I had only a very few customers that used food over spice.
Now? Even without the BE stuff...I've got almost more customers than I can deal with!
And you know...I'm also working my way up the tissues for BE...started BEFORE the revamp! Didn't know how that would affect me.
The one thing I LOVE?
We can milk critters?
So, yah..it's a pain, but you'll find folks more than willing to buy without the be additions to food.

Well, you might've titled these two threads a little too extreme ("revamp SUCKS" will bet getting some negative responses) but I think I see where you're going with this.

  1. Some bugs continuing to plague us even after they were reported on TC. Barrels, 'nuff said.

  2. See #1 (it's a double-suck)

  3. I'm not sure if this gets all the way to "sucks", but one thing this is definitely going to change is the options of a casual gamer. Someone playing an hour or two a night could probably keep up with pre-revamp cheffing solo, simply because there were only a few recipes worth making. Now there are a lot of recipes worth making, which means that anyone who can't dedicate a lot of time to the game is probably going to have to narrow their focus. Either outsource resource gathering, focus on a subset of the menu, partner with another chef, etc. Anyone who wants to offer every usefulrecipe is going to have to put in a lot of work.

  4. Starting from square one re-educating the customers. They'd finally figured out "Angerian = good, Ryshcate+ BoH = really good", now that's gone and we've got a whole new menu to offer. Fortunately, we at least have the benefit of people knowing that food can be useful, its just a matter of getting them familiar with new stuff.

  5. Despite the new art (which are very nice), the majority of the Desserts tree uses the "frosted yellow Calzone" graphic. Couldn't we at least re-use the old Correlian Ice cream graphic for some of those?

I don't think that non BE sucks. When I tell anyone about the average stats on Vasarian brandy and Vagnerian canap everyone says "wow". With BE tissues it's going to be almost overpowering but it's pretty good even without them.
