Thread: There needs to be a way to add a multiplier to foods, like we do with drinks.

The food is killing me, it cost as much if not more items to make the food as it does the brandy. But you can not get anything for a multiplier with the food. I just dont feel like wasting bio supplements on a food that has a stack of 6 instead of 18. What do you guys think? I understand you cacn experiment but it is not the same as comparing it to a cask.

I hate to say it, but I think the solution to this disparity is to lower the base # of charges on drinks, not allow multipliers on food. A single crate of my casked Brandy (duration isn't even experimented!) will last most people for months of two-fisted drinking. Now, I certainly appreciate not having the same two people clear out my vendor every couple days, but that's a whole lot of buffs. Once barrels get working, I may have "regular" customers who buy three crates a year.

If Brandy's base charges were three (for example) and I experimented it to 4 then put it in a cask, that'd still be a lot of charges for my customers, but it'd significantly narrow the "bang for your buck" disparity between food and drinks.

There's always the BE-tissue that gives the enhancement to charges

I agree with both. It either has to be both food and drink with multipliers or both with no multipliers. But it needs to be equal.

Well, containers on food would have another side-effect: it would slow down grinding on everything but components.

This would probably be seen as a benefit to some, and a horrible nerf to others. New chefs would accuse current Masters of pushing the system to reduce competition. People would wail about the addition of another factory run. Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanos, the dead rising from the grave, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria! How about this:

Take out Small Glass completely and leave out Small Dish from the food container list. Make the container an optional component (since the only thing it's contributing is stack size). The stack size of food/drink with no container would be the stack size in the current system (use the small glass stack for drinks). If you want a bigger stack, throw in a Large Glass/Plate, cask, platter, whatever.

I dunno I like my thoughts better.

As for making containers optional, or removing the 1x containers (small glass), I would love to see this just to get more factory time, but I think everything in this thread is to big of a change to hope for for a looonnnnggggg time.
