I noticed someone on another thread said they paid a MBE 25k to make them a schematic. I've been a MBE for several months now, and most I charge is 2k per schematic. Any Chef wanting BE additive schematics contact me via email and we can arrange something.

Wow, schematics for 2k huh....any of you chefs out there want to sell your schematics to me for 2k. Screw paying you 300k for a crate when I can make dozens myself for the same price =P

Saleb,

While I'm sure you consider this a nice gesture, by not valuing your skills you're devauling your whole proffession.

Still need to collect the resources.

I spend most of my time searching for the best resources. So if you like I'll give you a schematic that you can't use for 2k.

Just a thought... but say you did pay 250k for a schematic and then the resource's shifted ?? Then what ? I suppose your stuck with a schematic that you cant use unless you buy some from someone that harvested before the shift ?

Meparch, he's not talking about doing favors for a friend. He's saying anyone who wants a schematic here is one. Go make a 1000 additives.

This is like going to intel and saying hey i have a cpu fab plant can you give me the design blueprint so i can run off a bunch of cpu's.

My gaming experience is not about accumulating wealth, it's about player interactions. I have made quite a few pets, never sold a one. I chose to give them away to my friends who wanted em. What you have to understand is this is an RPG game... We have an economy and in order for economies to work we have to charge for services.. I understand helping friends, myselfbeing a huge advocate of item trade over credit exchange. But understand what kind of problems this can create. You are devalueing the bio profession wether you believe it or not... So you might be having fun but you will kill the Bio's that depend on their skills for income. How quickly would grocery stores go out of business if someone decided to give food away.. Or how many cars would sell if they just handed them out for free at the local quickie mart? So maybe it does not affect your gaming experience... but i assure you it will affect many others.. rather selfish of you to be so generous

You realize if someone is charging 300k/crate, your 2k charge is like .01% or something? The time it takes for two people to meet, exchange resources, etc. is worth more than that, ignoring any value placed on the time you spent grinding and the skill credits you've invested. You're certainly welcome to charge whatever you like, but I find it really hard to believe that 50k or 100k isn't a fairer price.

Yes, helping friends is completely different. While it might be free to make the schematic for a chef friend right at that time, the idea goes both ways. While friends usually don't assume they can ask for anything they want, I think it is kind of assumed that if a favor is reasonable it will be done. Instead of credits now, they are probably making up for a something the Chef did for the BE earlier or the BE might request something from the chef later. Even if their isn't, there is something intangible there that is being gained.

Selling schematics for 2k is helping all the people that in your opinion are greedy. They don't feel that the BE should charge anything for the schematic. If someone doesn't want to pay for your skills they are being greedy. If they offer and you refuse that is fine, but unless they go in with the assumption that they will be giving you something they are taking advantage of you.

But, in the light of all things in this game, your still welcome to do whatever you want. Noone can force you to not sell schematics, or to sell them for more. That is completely up to you. But do realize that you are hurting other BEs by doing this. Whether this is your intention or not, it is happening.

I'm only posting to this thread to ask any and all chefs for a favor: please don't be trolled into participating to this thread. Anyone who will argue that people shouldn't be allowed to make their own pricing decisions will certainly not put his opinion aside if someone presents a counterargument - only bad blood will follow.

Please don't take this as discouragement towards discussion, as the exchange of ideas is highly valuable and valued. What I'm saying is that a thread in which two sides keep repeating identical arguments over and over again is not a conversation, it's a waste of space.

Saleb, I have yet to "pay" for a single schematic, but I do tip 50k for them. You should look a couple posts down at the man who is charging 250k/schematic.
