Got my first holo today (finally!) and I'm pretty stoked about it. It told me Chef, which is a little weird - I'm a Bothan, and I thought that the path had to do with your race. I was figuring I"d get smuggler or ranger or somethin.

Anyway, yes I wanna know the quick and easy. I also wanna know your arguments for keeping chef. You see I have an alt. She's a master architect right now, and I'm not sure what else to do with her. I want something fun. Something that won't have me grinding my teeth in search of ore over 50%. So... opinions?

Just opened mine....master chef. There will be alot of hair found in my food.

Maybe it had to do with my already topped out general crafting xp. Just glad it didn't say tailor.

But this is kinda good since i have thousands of units of meat.

I'm thinking the holos give professions that aren't as common, maybe? Would fit in with the Friday Feature showing profession statistics. Anyway... can't wait to get in game and start working through artisan. I don't even have novice yet, HAH! Still... it'll give me something to focus on, and this is good. =)

To actually grind through chef that meat isnt going to do you any good.

And yet another Holocron Chef.

Found my second holocron this morning. I started as a Scout and went to Master Creature Handler. My first holocron directed me to Master Squad Leader which I did. The second one directed me to Master Chef.

Holocron speaks...... I obey.

I think it's totally random and has nothing to do with your previous basic skills or race.I guess there may be a possibility that theycould be directing people towards lesser used professions in order to try to preserve someprofession balance. Who knows.

Anyway, I'll be lurking around this board for tips for a while.

No the holocron's do tell you part of the path to jedi. It has nothing to do with popularity, it has to do with a random number generator picking a couple numbers when you start the game. My first holo went chef, second went pistoleer (working on that now). All the current jedi have followed their holocrons...

Search the board, there's plenty of replies to this same subject.

General rule of thumb for any crafting thing: make whatever takes the highest amount of resources because your xp is 2x the resources used.

I've been told to stock up on fruit and water.

Still haven't hit novice chef. Doesn't seem to be anything in the domestics line that gives nice exp... shoulda picked up Engineering first. Doh!

And I know holos do give you part of the path, I'm speaking of how it's generated. Speculation is the best we have, and it's addictive.

G'luck to you other holo chefs. I'll be lurking as well.
