NOT because a holo told me to, but because i can't find a chef worth a hoot on our server,on our planet (Gorath / Lok)and i figured i could turn our already busy cantina into a bar/gril and make our town even more furn for visitors- i've read the FAQ and all the other 'important' stickies from the top of this forum but if anyone has any tips for me, i'd REALLY appreciate them

thanks!

Ok, here's some useful tips that haven't made their way into the FAQ:

Advertise. Some people are still a little uninformed when it comes to food. Put up your chef title, put food effects into the item names, and know your products. The web page in the stickied post has columns for each of the stats, that's what I use when I'm looking fora particular buff.

The best answer when someone asks what food can do for them is "what pool are you draining the fastest?" Buffs to pool and usage stats (strength, quickness, focus) are useful for short burst actvities (i.e. combat), and buffs to usage stats and regen stats (constitution, stamina, willpower) are better for long-duration activities (entertainers, sampling).

If you come across a high-quality resource for something you make a lot, stockpile. For flora and meat, look for ones where the PE/OQ/Flavor adds up to over 1600, although flavor has a smaller contribution, so that can be lower. Anything with a total over 2400, put every harvester you have on that spot, even if you have to tear down your house. Well, ok, maybe not that drastic...

www.swgcraft.com is a crafter's best friend. Bookmark it, update it, love it.

Speaking of resources, if you haven't already make friends with your local scouts and rangers. Meat, hides, and (to a lesser extent) bone are used in a lot of recipes.

Experimentation and using good quality resources in components does make a difference in your final item. I've done the tests to prove it. The difference is small for the lower-level components (carbosyrup, dough, etc), but every point counts for that combat character looking for a PvP edge. The only exceptions I've foundare Sunburns (better Starshines definitely don't help) and maybe Vegeparsine (that's harder to test, since it requires factory-identical Veghash).

Good luck, may your chopping knife never dull and your soufle's never fall.
