Chef Apron +5 food exp and +5 assembly with 4 sockets left.

I can't remember for sure, but i think this apron came from recently added schematic from a mission.

Anyhow, I added a +4 food exp tape to it and NOTHING happened. It should be +9 food exp. with 3 sockets left. Where did I go wrong? Is this something that you cannot add tapes to?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It's a known issue with just about any skill tapes. If a piece of clothing already gives a bonus to a certain skill (whether that bonus is from a built-in enhancement like the chef apron, from the tailor including BE tissues during crafting, or previous tapes) adding a tape for that same skill doesn't stack. You end up with whatever bonus was higher. So in your case, the existing +5 was higher than the new +4 tape, so it stayed at +5. If you had a +6 tape, adding that would've made the apron give +6.

Don't bother submitting a CSR report on this, they've already taken the stance that there's nothing they can do about it. Our only real hope is that this gets fixed and the tapes are "remembered" by the game database. So on that glorious day, you may log in and see you are the proud owner of a +9 apron.

I'm glad I read this before attaining a new skill tape. I really hope they fix this issue, otherwise what use is stacking skill tapes.. Arguably, we should be able to stack them in clothing/armor. I guess for now I'll just have a crafting outfit and once I get more tapes, add it to the different articles of clothing.

I did the very same thing, and came here to write something on the forums, although my skill tape was just a plus one, I was still upset loosing it to a SOE lazy code. Sorry to hear that there were more of us and that we dont deserve to have our skill tapes back, and to be treated like we should have known the apron was going to act that way. Sorry SOE it was my fault. Chef Lyn.
