That grinding and crafting for fun are very similar in the chef profession?

The only difference is experimentation, but when you have to experiment on every single item (since our factories have never worked properly) it can kind of feel like a grind too

Anyone else feeling this way?

Sometimes I think the effects of chef buffs were created using a random number generator...

The only thing that's fairly uniform is the increase in manufacturing cost/difficulty as you go up the tiers, and the increase in the amount buffs fill you up as you go up the tiers >_<

Yea grind to Mix 2 so you can grind out sunburns, har har. I enjoy experimentation though, trying to see how good I can make food and drinks with better ingredients.

What I find insane about some high level chef recipes is the amount of ingredients you need for a buff that wears out in two minutes. Look at Elshandruu Pica Thundercloud for example (Mix 4). You need 4 identical alcohols. Lets say you want to make the best Thundercloud possible, so you make 4 Aludian pu36's (40 ingredients each. So you have 40+40+40+40+30 radioactive+30 neutronium steel+30 fruit. This drink requires 210 ingredientsand lasts 150 seconds lol....

there hasn't been more than one slot per server. Could be that its just that hard or random but possibly there is a limit to the number of FSCS on a server kinda like how there are never more than two Sith at a time. Something to think about.

slicing seems to be less effective since the last big patch? I get way more crappy slice's than i used to before the mounts went in. I am only slicing 4 skill, but i could still get a majority over 20%+ now about 1/2 are below 15%.

Im a master and i think my slicing avg lowered by a bit. i might just be paranoid lol but ive seen a LOT more 20% and under slices on weapons since the patch. and enc on armor used to always be around 33%+. lowest before the patch had been 28% now i get 27% all the time lol.

I too am asoon to be master smugglerand I currently have slice 4. I have really noticed a reduction in my average slice since the mount patch. For example last night I sliced 9 pieces of armor and got the follow:

32% encumb

28% encumb

21% effect

18% effect

19% effect

16% effect

15% effect

15% effect

13% effect

I know slicing can be streaky so at the end of the night I looked back at all the slicing I did and the average was 5 points below what I was getting before the patch. I'll be master soon so I have my fingers crossed that my average comes up!

I have to disagree, for me my slicing % is up from the patch before. I was getting ALOT of 15% on weapons, but now my average is around 25%

Well, i still think it was nerfed, I just did 4 more weapns and only 1 had a slice over 20%, 22% i think it was and i had 2 18% and 1 17% slice on the other 3. This is unheard of, i used to average in the 20-25% slicing range. I have to say that they have either stealth nerfed it, or they broke it again. I am getting slicing averages like I had when I was slicer 2, maybe they flipped the skill boxes again.

The last couple of nights I have been slicing armor for around 30-35% with the occisional 15%, but also 40ish. Last night I must have done at least 100 pieces of armor with those percentages. The thing that got me was the bad slices always happened on the chest plates. I did 4 suits for one guy and all of the chests had 20% slices or worse, but what are you going to do.

the opposite was happening to me . of a suit of nine i was getting 4 or 5 lowish slices but invariably i would get over 40% slices on helm, chest and leggings.

As my Master Smuggler, I sliced some items for a guy, they were pretty bad (teen) slices. I then got a 41% encumberance slice on his padded leggings.. good slice! Ok, I went to coronet and a guy wanted his composite armor slice.. I think out of his full suit I had like 1 decent slice. I told the guy to pay me whatever he wanted to.. it was all crap if you ask me. It's like an armorsmith charging the same price for a crappy weapon. I usually say a flat fee of 3k, but when the slice goes horribly wrong, it's free. I don't tell them that last part, but usually that's what I do. I hate slicing good items for people. I use VERY good resource to make my WUK's, Knives, and clamps. I have an armorsmith use good resources for my AUK's -- yet, no real control over my slicing. Bleh!
