Basically I am trying to see what template I want to take on my alternate character. I am trying to create the best chef possible, with enough merchant skills to be able to keep my customers coming back. I am also interested in creating my own tissues, and selling artisan foods.
Other questions:
Whats the minimum Bio Engineer I need without cutting into my chef stats? Is 12 pt Bio engineer worth it?
Whats the minimum Bio Engineer I need without cutting into my chef stats? Is 12 pt Bio engineer worth it?
How many merchant skills are recommended to be able to keep up with a demanding buisness?
Where do you recommend I start setting harvestors up, and what resources will I need if I decide to do the following menu:
Blob Candy
Spiced Tea
Bofa Treats
Kanali Wafers
Ruby Bliel
Chrispic
Caf
Veghash
Breath of Heaven
Vasarian Brandy
Vagnerian Canape
Kiwik Clusjo Swirl
Vercupti
Mandolorian Wine
Accarragm
Won-won
Elshandruu Pica Thundercloud
Vegeparsine
Bespin Port
Bespin Port
Pyollian Cake
PS: I have checked the stickies but have yet to find any information regaurding these questions, however I did get alot of questions answered from them. Been browsing this forum for a while...

thats for resources...both looking for them, and for telling u what foods use which resources...
As for template. I have recently gone over from BE to Chef...
10pt BE can be gained with xxx4 BE and is all you need to max out tissues...12pt BE is a new thing and is related mainly to the medical stuff. Until the CURB hit there were no 12pt BEs.
Tissues schematics for lights and mediums is x4xx BE...with heavies being a Master skill.
Therefore the most economical template (imo) is:
4440 Artisan, Master Chef, 0404 BE and 3004 Merchant. (6SPs left)
This gives u max skill EXP on Artisan and Chef foods, also the ability to make Light and Medium tissues...and u also get the max number of vendors without Master Merchant and can advertise on the Planet Map.
The down side is predominantely a lack of heavy tissues...make friends with a BE to solve this, and also you can't choose what you want your vendors to look like or accept uniforms...
If you are seeking to be self sufficiant, I would highly recommend picking up tailor 0.0.1.0. This is your trim and ALL drinks required a container and trim is required for for casks. So this is a very handy skill to have. You would need to wiggle out a total of 11 more skill points (6 left over from the template mentioned above) plus 5 more (probably drop merchant down). If you are only operating one store location you can get by with less merchant if you have multiple fully stocked vendor locations or multiple crafting professions you will need more merchant. The choice really comes down to what you are looking for.

Yes...I forgot trim as my g/f is a tailor
It really does come down to where you want to place yourself in the market...but the above template is a good place to start from. If you dont know any tailor friends...perhaps a little less merchant is better.

3004 IMO isn't particularly efficient. Unless you have loads of vendors. I run quite happilly on 3400 which also adds reduced maintenance.

Well I sell BE Meds as well as food and drink...also 2 storage vendors. (AND I think I will need to place anothe rin the guild hall) so for me I need more that 3400.
It all comes back to what you are aiming for.

Oh I wasn't implying that for you it wasn't the best solution but for a new chef it's not. A new chef might have 2 vendors tops ( and I wouldn't recomend using storage vendors to anyway as they are not particularly reliable ) for which novice merchant is plenty. Naturally I'd also recomend doing 3040 first to clothe the afformentioned vendors.

I have sacrificed much of my merchant skills so that I can be a master chef, master BE, and have the necessary tailor skills for trim. Since people can now search vendor items on the bazaar, I figure they will find me that way (along with advertising on the trade forums). If your prices are competitive, they will come to you. You won't need those fancy merchant skills..
