It depends how badly you want to do it. There are some pretty frustrating hoops youy have to jump through, but it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it. If you like doing unarmed a lot, and talking to people it will be a pleasure. Doing unarmed was a drag for me, but the containers were not so bad. For some people Unarmed is not so bad, but the containers give them fits. Some people hate both. Some people like both. It's all pretty much relative.

Unarmed was hard for me but pistol was simple. I had to mix the two to be able to finish unarmed. So far being a smuggler is awesome for me. I like slicing and spicing! ![]()

What i found that helped in unarmed combat is first stun the target and go right into beresek. this usually works about 80 to 90% of the time.

Did you finish slicing 2 or are you working on slicing 2? You cannot slice weapons until you are finished with slicing 2. If you are still working on slicing 2 now you can slice terminals in addition to containers. And you do not get the schematics for clamps until you finish slicing 4. Until then there are usually smugglers that will sell crates of clamps but you dont need them. The clamps just eliminate the chances of failing in the slice.

I haven't posted this anywhere yet, but I was typing up a slicing guide for smugglers about a week ago:
Once you make novice smuggler, you'll probably want to work on spices and slicing soon so you have some income from the profession. Slicing is my favorite due to the fact that most people would rather get a doctor &/or entertainer buff rather than carry around spice.
1) Start by collecting (buying/looting) locked containers (60 will be enough to get you to Slicing II).
2) Manufacture precision knives. Factory crates work best to minimize the amount of inventory used.
3) Ask around to find where you can purchase or obtain molecular clamps. You'll need at least as many as containers you have to slice.
4) Slice open 20 containers using clamps and get training in Slicing I. If you don't have enough containers, slice what you have in acrowded area and offer free container slicing to everyone within earshot.
5) Slice the rest of the containers using your clamps. Sit in a crowded area near a mission terminal. Advertise more free container slicing and slice the terminal(s) when you can without a molecular clamp (if you want to save credits).
6) Obtain training in Slicing II.
Now for the best but most boring part:
7) Obtain crates of cheap weapons (survival knives are best). Also round up every looted weapon you've obtained.
8) Manufacture crates of Flow AnalyzerNodes (FAN's)and more Laser Knives if needed.
9) Slice weapons using the FANs in a crowded area, while advertising free container and weapon slicing (if still have some Molecular Clamps).
10) Destroy the factory crate weapons as you slice them. Any looted weapons can be sold to specific junk dealers either sliced or unsliced.
11) Once you get training in Slicing III, you can add free slicing for armor for people assuming you have molecular clamps.
Congratulations, you've completed slicing.

You need both Marksmen Pistols 4 and Brawler Unarmed 4 to become a Smuggler.
