Thread: How can programmers enhance SOE parties !!!!!

There is a marvellous piece of technology chefs can and want to use, that's called a barrel. It's a wonderous piece of technology: isolated, refrigerated and with a nice design and lovely bleeping lights.

When you mix it with chef beverage recipes that gives you a LOT more. Thats means more beer, ale, blue milk, booze, you name it !, at SOE's parties after a long day of programming and at a very cheap cost !!

Come on ! That's one simple code to change in your game databases. Turn a drink quantity multiplier on barrels from zero to the desired value. But remember: the more the value is, the more the booze at SOE parties !!!!

Pleeeeaaaaassee ! It's been two years now. Can't you just make that simple change in you game databases? Help us have big parties too in SWG's cantinas.

There are really far more gamebreaking bugs than this one right now. What would we gain with working barrels? (5/3) times more charges on our drinks and charging a bit more for them? What would we win?

I was one of the people who voted for barrels to never be fixed. As it stands, our drinks can have anywhere from 6-21 uses per cask, and that's plenty. The more uses each item gets, the less people will visit our vendors. Is it a better deal for customers? Sort of, but considering all of the artisan sub-components needed, it's not worth the work, and the added expense would have to be tacked onto the cost of the finished product anyway. We already rely on BE's and tailors for components as it is, and I'm hardly thrilled by the idea of having to ALSO rely on artisans. If they were to fix it, there would undoubtedly be chefs who capitalized on offering more bang for a buck which would, in effect, penalize everybody else who was accustomed and quite happy with the quantity multipliers on casks, which in comparison, are much easier to make.

Get rid of barrels.

Give us PLATES!

Agreed. Would hurt newer players as well being that most chefs just sell full crates and now the price would be even higher. Just imagine all your drinks you make now. Now double them because you have to make both...withbarrels and with casks(for the poorer players). I personally don't need more work and cringe at the idea

Someday I really wonder why people post here...

I didn't post here to start an argument about the barrel fix and have people complain about it.

I am a chef, I have something called a barrel in my schematics and I'd like to be able to use it or have it removed from myrecipes, that's all that simple. Now having whiners complain about SWG economics is not my problem here. I was only making a request to the programmers.

And for those who complain about prices I will only ask this: 'Since when earning money is an issue in SWG ?'. Any fighting class, even a casual gamer, can make severals Ks of credits per day, so either or not they can afford our fees is really not the problem here. Every players always try to sell the best stats and the most charges in their goods, so if the fix is made, everyone will align. I hardly believe people will stop purchasing goods because we raise them a few hundred credits.

Aglardae the point they were trying to make is that while the barrel is bugged and that is unfortunate, a Cask is more than enough for our needs. So the long time suggestion has been instead of fixing the barrel, add something we could really use like a quanitity multiplyer for foods, i.e a plate.

It really would be a much more useful component than a barrel.

Agreed, plate would be more helpful than a barrel.

Fixing the duration would be nice too...

Agreed

A previous idea for barrels was keeping the quantity multiplier the same as casks and adding to another stat as well, such as duration or filling. It would give them a use at least, I couldn't see them becoming the staple thatcasks have become.

A forum is essentially a place where people can exchange ideas. That is exactly what this thread has done. You would like the bug with barrels resolved, however some would prefer not to. Just because you post does not mean everyone will agree with you. Just be glad you didnot post jedi suck or BH suck elsewhere and have a 6 page thread with flames. I'm fine with casks and would love to see plates instead as well, would definately help out with the vegeparsine. However I do agree that seeing barrels doing nothing is a bit annoying. It would be great if maybe after plates are introduced, barrels become a x2 or x3 modifier with an addition to buff effect or other stat enhancer (I remember seeing this idea in the chef issues).
