Tried posting this on the Starsider boards, with no response. I thought I might try here, as well. If you Starsider Rebels already read this, and decided you weren't interested, I'm sorry for the SPAM

Greetings,

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Waryyhn, a high-ranking member of the Rebel guild called Liberty Alliance.

Chances are, many of you probably read the subject line and assumed that this was a rant about the state of the Chef profession in Star Wars: Galaxies. It isn't. If you're a chef and a Rebel, though, please continue reading.

Our guild is, I think, pretty unique (of course, everyone feels the same way, no?). Sure, we participate in PvP, and enjoy hunting together, etc., but our guild is actually built more around meeting genuinely nice and helpful people who want to contribute to a working and valuable community of players. Most of us couldn't care less about being "uber," as it were, and in fact few of us are masters in any elite or hybrid profession.

So, what the heck does this have to do with Chefs? Well, do be perfectly honest, we don't have one. And I for one want to find someone who is both a Chef, and also looking for the sort of things that we represent asa guild. What can a Chef offer us right now? Umm... to be honest, I'm more interested in gathering a well-rounded and interesting mix of mature, interesting, team-players that I am scrutinizing your skills to be sure you can "pull your weight." Plus, some of us are anti-spice, and would appreciate the buffs that Chefs provide without the damage that drugs do to our bodies (yes, this is a role-playing thing, not strictly a game-mechanics issue).

Are combat skills a must, also? No, but to be honest, we don't have any pure crafters in our ranks at this time, so if you can't at least pull a trigger or swing a big stick, you might find yourself sitting at the Hall alone a lot of the time. We go hunting quite a bit, and we also participated in (some would say partially instigated) the big PvP battle that spread from Keren to Theed on Saturday night (by the way: big shout out to all Rebels and Imps who made this an exciting and rewarding skirmish in the GCW). But quite often our funnest times aren't spent on the battlefield, but rather in the cantinas and camps afterward talking about the fight

Are there any requirements for joining our guild? Actually, yes: we expect you to be able to fit in personality-wise with our existing members. Remember -- you are more important to us a personality than a set of skills. If we sound like the kind of group you're looking for, send a /tell to Waryyhn, Varexda, or Decoy in-game. Hang out with us for a few days and see if we're the gang you want to spend your time with.

(As an aside, we are also welcoming Weaponsmiths, Armorsmiths... whatever, actually. But let's face it, Chefs get no love, and they seriously need some).

Waryyhn

I haven't met more than 2 or 3 other Master Chefs on Starsider, and all of them have already been guilded. I'd suggest either someone work their way to Master Chef (and all the profession entails), or just place orders with the MCs that already exist. I'm on Tattooine, and only have an order for 2 crates of Mind Blasters I need to fill, and am availiable if you want to send an order.
