Another question is do you get more milk per animal if you move up into the ranger tree?
As far as I've seen reported, the answer is no. Bigger animals give you more volume, though. On TC I came up on a Fambaa, and got 20 or 30 units, and I think they upped the yield after that.
I had one guy one live who offered some to me. Hesaid he had about 250 units, but it was five different types. Well, it turned out he hadn't noticed that milk doesn't auto-stack when you harvest it, which means he got that from only 5 milkings. I'm not sure how much hunting skill he had, but he had been sneaking up on Falumpasets, which are pretty big.
I also had much success on Dantooine. I was getting 100 per milking (stats don't matter on the Bantha Butter component). I had 3 lairs close to each other, one was lesser bols, I think... they were domestic milk, they were next to some larger animal that gave wild milk. Interesting thing was I would milk them, move to next lair, milk that one, etc. By the time I finished the 3 lairs, I was able to RE milk the first one. So, I just went around in a circle doing these 3 lairs until I got bored. ![]()
I just want to confirm that every time I send my 0/0/0/0 Novice Scout out to try to milk, I get the message saying something like "You are unable to milk because the [XXX] is spooked."
So yes, either /maskscent or get a Ranger to apply camoflauge to you. I have no idea whether you can eat food to mask your scent for you, or whether it's only effective if you already have the /maskscent command. My guess is that it only augments the existing skill rather than gives it to you outright.
