Thread: how bout this for a cool chef idea

i dont post. i read. please dont look at my post count ignore this. i play swg avidly. now i recently had an idea - im not sure if it has been brough up already - but it would increase the importants of chefs, as well as some other classes.
there should be bait in this game. now i understand there are a TON of different species across the planets. i figure bait could be placed on in the wilderness and have a chance to attract some of the harder creatures in game. the ones that are more rare to spawn. (great kimos...gorax...etc). now since these creatures are rare for a reason. i figure that the bait for them would have to be difficult to make, and needs probably a number of various types of meat (like obviously from whatever the creature to be baited would eat)
so a person would have to collect the various ingedients. give to chef. chef craft the bait. at this point i think that either a ranger, or maybe a master scout would have to have a "use bait" ability.
what do you all think? im always for the improvement of this game - not that im not in love with it already. but anything that will cause differnet people of differnet professions to work together is pretty sweet to me.

I think this would be cool, so long as it wan't craftable in a factory...I have enough stuff tied up in them (got my 2nd account yesterday for that...)

Sounds like an intersting idea to me, im sure the details would have to be ironed out. There are a lot of creatures that don't spawn on missions also, or are difficult to get missions for that this could help. For example when Talus Avain is good you could put out some Devil Gulginaw bait in a couple places, wait for them to show up, and then you have a much easier way to get this avain meat then rasp missions.

yes exactly. wouldnt this be also beneficial to creature handlers. and bio-enngineers. for those hard to get creatures.
for me, i play mostly a fighter. (commando, sl, swordsman, marksman, etc) it would just be nice to roleplay an actual "hunt"
and i dont believe this would detract from the ranger ability to track. tho im not sure.

oo i like. rangers could possibly get bait skill the same way they get their camo packs. easier planets first. and once they unlock that planets bait. they can just choose from a list what animal to set the bait for. hmmm, dont know about that. especially how starting planets have pretty hard creatures. /thinks krayt dragon.
another question is about schematics. how do chefs get the new food schematics that are released? do they just appear in your datapad?

as long as rangers were the only ones allowed to use it I'm fine with this, but I think they need love a lot more then us right now...

I think for this to work right, it would be a multi proffesion project. Maybe have the chefs make the Bait base, and give it to a Ranger to make in to a specific bait, kinda the way chef uses the BE additives. Or maybe even have the BE's give a tissue to a chef, that then makes the bait base, then gives that to the ranger to make bait out of. Just a few ideas.

YeaI have to agree here, this would be great for rangers, and help supply the servers with more higher quality meat.
