ah, forget food when it comes to this grind. just grind out a bunch of wind generators at something like 400xp a pop. If you went for food, you'd take probably four times as long. I wish that the xp for installations had been fixed when I was grind up to chef...

Besides you might make some money from the sales of the generators, maybe enough to support this chef habit of yours... heheh

Negative. Installations are bugged. You need general crafting XP to get from Homemaker IV to Novice Chef, and installations all give you Structure Crafting XP.

The quickest way from Homemaker IV to Novice Chef is by grinding Bone Armor. Bone Armor BPs are 514 XP each, which is 20x more XP than any kind of food you can make in the Homemaking tree.

If you have Engineering IV, just start cranking out the Bone Armor.

If you don't have any Engineering, I still suspect that it would be quicker to get to Novice Chef by cranking through the Engineering tree using Bone Armor (First boots, then helmet, then BP) than it would to get to Novice Chef by grinding out anything in the Domestic tree.

Are you sure that's still true? I know it was at launch, but thought it was changed because only architects needed something other than General Craft XP for novice. They changed Novice Arc to require GCXP, and changed the installations (at least the low-level ones in Engineering) to give the same.

Now this is all off the top of my head remembering some patch notes, I haven't checked lately.

Well if you are a grinder you are going to hate chef. Chef foods are not the kind of things you get lots of exp for.

it has been fixed on Bria. i ground up to novice weaponsmith to make grenades on wind generators. i was curious about whether it had been fixed, and it had, at that point.... about two weeks ago i think.

anyway, grenades don't have the range i needed so i dumped WS... heheh

FWIW, I used wind generators to grind up the Artistan tree just about a week or two ago, so it was working in that timeframe.... not sure about now.

I used Mineral Survey Devices... they gave about 60-70xp per shot...

Then when you get to Chef start grinding on Wastril Bread and Ithorian Mist.... I end up using 6 crafting station and I still catch up to the 35s timer on the first one... lol

This is your time to shine. So No grinding until novice chef.

1: Starshine Surprises. Try mixing it up a bit with radioactives.

2: Telteir Noodles. Make a few practice ones to see where experimentation dries up(soft max) I think it's around 7 quantity, that's the only one I remember.

3: Go to business III, setup a vendor in your house. Put foods of all the different teirs on there.

4: Setup harvestors and stockpile the three fruits, wheat, rice, oats, and water.

5: Get 4 crafting stations and just grind straight. Then go to a cantina or a medical center and give away food to entertainers/doctors.

6: Backpacks.

7: Lastly, go hunting with friends and find out what stats are being kicked the most, make food for that. Find out if they are wearing very basic clothing or if their cothing is inappropriate. If they don't have a backpack make them one. If they don't have a green outfit for Endor, make them one.
