Chef Archive

So - I've remained pretty positive about being a chef. I've rather counted that it will at some point become a respectable buffing prof. And I still do hope that, but ...

I spent quite a lot of time last night grinding to Desserts 4. I was excited to get there, cause that gave me Corellian Fried Ice Cream. It isn't a world shattering buff,naturally... but it buffs focus about 400 pts ... it's something you can sell and not feel total shame (buff bug aside).

I got my factory cranking the Ice Cream and logged. Today I was looking forward to taking it out and stocking it in my vendors. When I got to Theed, I turned and talked to my wife for a minute. When I turned back to the computer, a friendly doc had buffed me. My Stamina went from wimpy Mon Cal Crafter 400 and some upto something like 4x that. Just like that. Bam. And it isn't going to wear off anytime soon.

I thanked her, cause it was a neighborly thing to do. But thegood feelingIhad aboutmy Fried Ice Cream just went right out the window. All I know is that I can't sell this stuff and feel ... like a fish outta feel. I managed to ship myself to Coronet. But right outside Coronet I lost all enthusiasm, logged ... and right now feel like washing my hands of the whole thing.

What do I get for the effort ... I get to be the SWG jester!

The last thing left for me in game is the fact that a few Seattle area friends and I are putting up a PA this week. (after the last PA - full of bright, mature, great people - just melted away.)

*shrug* bummer.

I know how ya feel. I've felt the same way all week, what with slagging sales because of the food buff. I've shifted over to selling resources, hoping things will be fixed soon. I'm really, really close to calling it quits. Which is a shame, 'cause I do really like the game.

On test center the other day my wimpy novice artisan crafted a lowly bofa treat. She took two bites of said bofa treat. AND BOTH TIMES WAS BUFFED! yay!

In summary it seems the food bug regarding eating multiple uses of food has been fixed.

But Bofa Treat is an artisan food, not chef food :/

yeah i can relate... kept the smiles up through the factory bug and the stack bug... it's beginning to wear at me. well the large patch is coming out next week, and hopefully with that, our food fix. and i'm not EVEN gonna hold my breath for that fabled balance pass they promised us a couple months ago.

Yup, it's pretty depressing atm. I'm still selling things... slowly. But I'm not having to actively replace anything that I sell (ie that's how slow it is). I can't really blame anyone either. *sighs* So I'm off playing my Ranger atm, at least he's getting somewhere.

I know the feeling, I was walking through the starport with food in hand ready to sell it and there was a doctor there shouting

"Buffing stats, +1000 to +2800 for 2.5hours, 5k credits"

I just kinda sat there and said to myself "Self, how the hell can I compete with that. I am lucky if I can make Fishak Surprise last 12 minutes but 2.5 hours **edit**!"

We feel you pain brother. Nerf Doctors!

yeah, i checked the patch notes yesterday.. the word "chef" or "food" didn't appear in it. still, i hear it's being worked on. bah

The word buff only appeared once, but had nothing to do with us.

I hear you 'Fish. Even though I too am now thoroughly depressed and demoralized re: swg, it's not something I would wish on another.

My ultimate goal was to be a smuggler/chef with my own cantina. Thankfully the smuggler profession works for the most part--no smuggling, but slicing and spicing are fine. There is a 2.5 M pistol experience grind, but it is far more rewarding than the bazillion chef food experience grind. Because I am a capable (but not good) fighter, I can keep myself entertained with doing some of the quests and dungeons, but I'm rapidly approaching the point where the chef skills become dispensable. :/
