Okay, first of all, I know food is bugged to one extent or another so I guess you could call these questions theoretical. Here goes:

1. How does stacking work? What are its limitations? I've seen that you can stack 2 of the same type of drink, but can you stack 2 of another kind of drink on top of that? If not, can you stack 2 drinks and 2 food items?

2. Are there any limitations as far as stacking food buffs with doctor/entertainer buffs/spice?

3. Assuming you can stack from multiple types, what are some good combinations I should be looking for?

That about sums it up. Glad you guys are hanging in there because here's at least one person who has a lot of high hopes for the chef profession.

1. The only limit on what you can stack is how filling it is. All food either fills up your food or your drink bar (ctlr + c to see it). The amount it fills is depent on the food. Cheap stuff like caf and spice tea don't fill you up much so you can drink 4 or 5 of them, but things like BoH fill the bar up a lot and you can only drink 1. Though I think you'll still have enough room to drink a Spiced Tea or 2.

2. Nope

3. Depends on what you want to buff.

Note: Do not attempt to stack food buffs or combineded them with dancer/doctor/spice buffs right now, they will mess up your stats.

Oh I should have pointed this out above.... but I'm doing it now

Food and drink are totaly independent from one another.
So if your drink bar is full but you food bar is still emptey you can still eat as much as you want, and the same thing theother way.

These answers assume that the stacking bug gets fixed:

1. When you eat multiple foods, the buffs from each dose get added to your stats. The limit on the number of food/drink buffs you can have is based on your "Fill bars" (on the character sheet displayed when you do ctrl-C), and the "Filling" stat of the food. This stat is experimentable, however it is not visible on the food, so you can't examine a Sunburn and see that it will fill you up 40% (estimated). You can drink any combination of drinks (up to filling up the "Drink" fill bar), plus any combination of foods (up to filling the "Food" fill bar). The rule of thumb I use is that you can eat 3 or 4 of the same type of artisan food/drink, 2 (sometimes 3) of chef food/drink, and only 1 upper-tier and master food/drink. For the upper level ones, you would generally still have enough room for a different lower-level item, so for example you could probably eat a Thakitillo (Master chef food) and a Veghash (entrees II).

2. Food buffs stack on top of any other buff. If you wanted to be s00p3r ub3r, you could get doctor buffs to your sixred and green stats, musician and dancer to blue stats, a dose of spice (you can only have one of these at a time), two foods, and two drinks.

One area where we haven't been able to experiment is with the entertainer buffs. Those are a percentage addition to your current stats, so in theory it may be possible to have 400 Focus/Willpower, eat two Ormacheks (adding180 to focus/willpower) just beforegetting a buff from a Master musician (adds 100% to Focus/Willpower) and have a final Focus/WIllpower of( 400 + 180 ) * 2 = 1160. I'm also not sure what happens when the Ormachek wears off; would you have the 800 you'd have if the musician buffed you without the food, or 980 (1160minus 180 from the food). I keep meaning to test this with Durindfire (adds to Mind) and a dancer buff, since primary stats do currently regenerate from the bugged value.

3. I'm not too sure on this, with the buff bug I haven't been willing to test what combinations fill you up. You can check this site for some rough buff estimates.

Thanks for the support, and may your next meal not make you weaker.

Great info! I really appreciate the help. I do have one question about the site you provide though sciguy. In one column it has the buff amount, then it's color coded based on pool. I'm not really sure why the numbers are different though. For instance the first one, Bofa Treats, list the buff as +50 actionbut if you look in the shaded area for Action it says 35. Can anyone explain that?

I updated it but I have no where to host it... Its got stack amount, buff totals for each type of area, fillingness for some items. Lots of useful info. If someone wants to host it I can send it to you. Or if you leave your email I can send it to you that way too.
Its a consent work in progress though cause it changes based on what I'm selling, and I don't think you'll find the price column that useful

Potillan, unless someone with a real site steps forward, I'd be willing to put it up on my ISP account's free web space. Actually, I'd like to see it for myself anyway, could you email it? My address is [email protected]

Hmm, although it looks like swgchef.com is resolving again. Maybe someone here has it?

The colored column are numbers from before a bug fix that boosted the buffs when the food uses components. The stats in the "Buff" column are more in line with what you'll see. The person who put it together may also have gotten some more skills in the "Cooking" line (which has the food experimentation skill) between the two updates. I'm not sure who (if anyone) is in charge of keeping that site updated, but right now it's the best we've got.

I keep meaning to download the spreadsheet that page is based on and update it, but between the chef grind (still have four more boxes to go), harvester runs, trying to sell pet food and Sunburns to keep my harvesters going, and RL, I just haven't had the time.
