Ok I know this may sound a bit confusing or a long list but...

Does anyone know a full list of all the different types of resources I would need to be able to craft any and all food and drinks in the chef profession? I wanna put out harvesters and load up on the items. But I'm a bit confused about finding out what I may need because I'm so new to the game. If possible...thx.

Oh and another question...How do factories work? What do I need to own them?

you need all flora except hardwood, you need lubricating old, a whole bunch of idfferent kinds of gasses reactive and inert, metals and minerals (intrustiveore, crystallized gemstones, radioactives).

You basically need everything you can get your hands on.

/agree except that even though hardwood isn't 'needed' it can still be used. SO yeah, we can use ANY resource out there. Is there ANY other crafting profession that can say that? Besides Master Artisan?

I'm pretty sure BE's can also make that claim, and they have the pleasure of specifically requiring milk, eggs, fish, and (my favorite!) mollusk. And you thought we had it bad with the milk...

I actually started putting together a list of all of the different sorts of materials I would need to gather over the course of my chef career. I can't claim that this is complete, but it should give you an idea as to the length of the list, if nothing else:

Flora-

-As was mentioned earlier, just about every type will be needed (corn, wheat, etc.) Also,

-Corellian Domesticated Wheat

-Corellian Berry Fruit

-Tatooinian Vegetable Tubers

-Tatooinian Berry Fruit

-Soft Wood

-Evergreen Wood

Animal Products-

-Milk (a well-documented issue, to be certain)

-Every type of meat possible (insect, domesticated, etc. planet-specific not required)

-All 4 types of hide (wooly, bristley, scaley, leathery)

Gases-

-Both inert and reactive in general. Also,

-Hurlothrombic Inert Gas

-Methanagen Inert Gas

-Hydron-3 Inert Gas

Chemicals-

-Polymer

-Liquid Petrochemical Fuel

-Lubricating Oil (to ease digestion, perhaps? )

Minerals-

-Crystalline Gemstone

-Radioactive (Best for Twi'leks and other hairless species. j/k)

-Siliclastic Ore

-Igneous Ore

-Neutronium Steel

There are other, far more experiences chefs than myself in these parts (only been at it for a couple of weeks), so I'm sure they can fill in the things that I have missed.

Under animal products, bone as well. And of course, water. So yes, chefs require every major category of resource (flora, mineral, chem, gas, water, animal), as well as many planetary specifics and subclass specifics.

Here is my collection of milk so far. The bottom 2 on the right proove that they shift like any other resource. Kind of sux actually. Makes it harder to find multiples.

I found this a long, long time ago, back maybe even before release:

The resources are accurate, but the buffs really aren't. Unless you're using really, really **edit**ty resources and no experimentation, you can just about always do better than the buffs they've listed there.
