Thread: Subtract the Holocron Chefs (raises hand). What do you think the % really is?
How many have been on this board in the last few weeks?
Yeah, I agree with all of this. Every time I come here and read a "plz give me advice; I'm a 13 year old with an atst who farmed a holocron," it makes me want to scream. I play this profession because I like it, not because I'm going to get some tangible benefit and am using it as a stepping stone.
I think it goes deeper than that, though. I was under the impression that this magical, mystical way to unlock a fs slot would make me go, "Oh, man, what a GOOD IDEA." But mastering a bunch of professions? Screw that. That's not cool, or interesting, or whatever. Boooooo to the devs. I've read a lot more creative things on the forums for "what unlocking the fs slot could be" than what it actually is.

I said it once I will say it again, my cat is more clever, and she spends all day throwing up and licking her butt.
I'm actually sort of a Holocron chef on Flurry. I originally started as a Chef and got to Entrees II before abandoning the profession to take up architect. I'll probably start the slow progress through chef when I finish DE which I'm slowly going up the skill trees on by making and selling droids/chasis rather than doing any grinding. Chef was ugly back when I first played with it and it doesn't appear it's gotten any easier. I hate grinding with practice on but it appears to be the only realistic way to do Chef.
All my friends laughed when they found out I got Chef as it's very ironic that it was my original profession. After I'd finished DE I was thinking of taking it up again even before I used the Holocron just cause I really liked making food before, but just hated the insane grind to reach mastery.
If only Tatooine Sunburns had been common knowledge back in the first 2 weeks the game went live I'd have probably stuck with Chef, but I didn't ever see a mention of it and it was very depressing how bad the food buffs were at novice and in the first two Entrees boxes.
